No kidding, what's that all about? Coach Kobe?

Oh, and there's already a thread dealing with this (essentially). It asks everyone to predict Kwame's stats for next season, and all the conversation directly answers your question of how he'll do "under" Kobe.

Kwame averaged 10.9 ppg and 7.4 rpg at 21.

Let's wait and see. I have a great feeling about Kwame.

Flat out, he's gonna LOOK good to most of us.

Why?

Cuz he averaged 7ppg and 6rpg last season, but in just 23 minutes.

Which means that paces him for about 12ppg and 10rpg if he plays starter-type minutes.

Factors: He's playing in the West now, which may slight those numbers a bit. 2nd Factor: He's motivated to show the Wiz they went wrong and is in a new environment.

To me? Those, at least roughly, cancel each other out. So expect him to average somewhere around 12 and 10.

Then expect the media to act like that's some kind of rebirth, even though that's roughly the same per-minute output he had last season.

Is that still decent? Yeah. But he can do better, and the test will come over his 2nd and (potential) 3rd year here to see if he's seriously realizing his potential.

He might just need a fresh start. Rumors are that he's already working out with Kobe.

Shoot man, rumors on here are that everyone outside of Will Sasso is working out with Kobe.

Don't get me wrong, kick ass if he's working out with Kobe. But if you buy the hype, then Kobe has about 10 guys at his house every day workin' out while Vanessa chills in the KB garden sippin' lemonade.

I say Kwame averages more than 12 a game this season, because, believe it or not, he's going to touch the ball more and more regularly than he did in Washington.

This kid has played with a NUMBER of guys who love to shoot: MJ, Stackhouse, Rip Hamilton (all on one team, I believe), and then Arenas, Hughes, Jarvis Hayes, Antawn Jamison, and Juan Dixon (all on the same team!) DAMN! I mean, Kobe likes to shoot, but we have NOWHERE NEAR the sheer NUMBERS of swing players that like to shoot on our team. Plus we run a completely different system.

I also believe that, in playing with Shaq, and having been triple-teamed, Kobe understands the need to get big players involved early. In fact, when Mihm had his biggest games, it was Kobe who was feeding him.

I think Kwame averages 15ppg or more. The kid has a LOT of talent. You don't just come off of the street and hit up C-Webb for 30 & 19, then turn around & score 27 & 11 vs. Tim Duncan without talent. He CAN play. The only question will be consistency.
