So, this is what Mitch is telling other GM.
Maybe the only reason Mitch is telling GMs this is because he doesnt want other teams to fear trading with the lakers |

Okay, now ESPN has posted an article that Marion is staying put and the Suns are trying to trade for Charlotte's first round pick. It is becoming more obvious that no one knows what the %$@# is going on and I think this KG to the Suns is a bunch of crap.

It's all information getting fed by "sources," whether correct, incorrect, or intentionally incorrect, to parrots who'll repeat this info to the masses...
Who knows what to believe?
It's all a little frustrating actually... |

Yeah, I don't know anymore. I'm tired of all of this BS. I think I'm much better off waiting until the first game of the season to see what players are where. I love how the ESPNews ticker shows BREAKING NEWS: Kevin Garnett to Lakers trade dead. Did anyone know that the Lakers had a trade in place for KG?! I certainly did not! Guess we should give Mitch some credit apparently he did have a trade for KG!
I am with everyone here. If McHale trades KG for Ratliff and the #5 and gives up the #7 he will go down as the worst GM in NBA history. All I can say is I am glad I am not a T-Wolves fan. Us Lakers fans may be coming up on some hard times, but atleast we know our team will be back. |

I can't believe we have to deal with the devil McHale in order to get something done. Dealing with Bird, McHale, and Ainge..so it has come to this |

if i'm mitch, im doing everything i can to secure one of the picks from the teams who currently hold picks 6-10 by dangling odom at them - throw our 19, a second rounder this year and first rounder next year, that coupled with bynum, brown and a resigned luke can trump any offer so far. _________________ "i was born down in the valley where the sun refused to shine, but i'm climbin' up to the highlands, goin' to make that mountain mine" ~ Lakers, 2011

Maybe they are after Yi and not KG..or they could be trying to get Yi so that they could trade him and get KG..don't see why they would do that..Yi is supposedly the next Yao so they would want to keep him wouldn't they? |

If I was Phoenix, I would trade Marion for Gerald Wallace and #8. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Quote: | Lakers stay on Garnett watch
Front office scrambles, but Timberwolves seek youth, better draft pick and don't like Odom's deal.
By Mike Bresnahan, Times Staff Writer
9:35 PM PDT, June 26, 2007
If Monday brought expectation and exhilaration to Lakers fans, Tuesday delivered silence.
Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor met with team officials in Minneapolis and then left for a honeymoon in China without signing off on a deal to send Kevin Garnett to the Lakers for a package including Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom, which put the Garnett-to-L.A. scenarios back where they were a week ago — remote territory.
The buzz in the Lakers organization after owner Jerry Buss spoke with Taylor a few days ago was replaced by the fact that Kevin McHale's initial reaction to the trade proposal had carried over into Tuesday.
McHale, the Timberwolves' vice president of basketball operations, felt the Lakers don't possess a good enough pick in Thursday's draft (19th overall) or enough promising youth beyond Andrew Bynum to part with Garnett.
Furthermore, The Times has learned that the Timberwolves are not overly enamored with Odom's contract, which has two more years worth $27.4 million with no opt-out.
Garnett is due $22 million next season and he could opt out before making $23 million in 2008-09, which means the Timberwolves would be on the hook for more money with Odom than they would have been if Garnett had opted out next summer.
Still, the Lakers' front office is in motion, seeing what can be worked out in the hours leading up to Thursday's draft....

Not sure what Phoenix is trying to do. If I'm them I would consider giving up Amare for KG. That could be the move to put them over the top. Giving up Kurt Thomas and a pick to get Yi isn't going to help them right now. I'm not that read up on Yi but from what little I've read he looks like another SF in a centers body and no ones is quite sure where he will play. Is that right? _________________ Sarcasm - just one more service I provide
