A couple people saw this (along the bottom crawl) during ESPN's First and 10 this morning.
What do you think? Does Kurt want that job and would the Lakers want to let him go?

sorry if this is a repost...
i was just watching espnews and they said kurt rambis is the leading front runner for the new coaching vacancy in phx. did anyone else hear this?
IF he does take the job....how will it effect the lakers when they play the suns assuming kurt knows every play the lakers run. |

I think Rambis would be an excellent coach. He got a raw deal here in that one aborted stint. |

Wow, that would hurt. But it's no secret that he'd like another shot at being a headcoach. It's a great opportunity for him. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe. |

I saw the John Ireland interview and he said that he thinks Rambis would be among the top of the Suns list. He didn't say he was the leading canidate. |

I feel bad for anyone inheriting the Suns coaching job.
The team is headed on a downward slide. Think about the respect the new coach will receive from a certain 4 letter word Center. |

I think the next Suns coach is essentially being set up to fail. Would be surprised if whoever gets the job lasts more than a couple seasons before the team gets blown up. |

Shaq always dissed Rambis after he left in 99, wonder how that would work. Hopefully they patched things up. _________________ Bleeding purple and gold since 1980. |

Didn't Shaq push Rambis out the door in 1999?
I thought we went with PJ because Shaq said Rambis couldn't handle it? _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Wasn't it Shaq that objected the most about Rambis? I wonder how that would be like if they were reunited...

If this is true I will wish Rambis the best (except when he's playing the Lakers of course).
He did get a raw deal in '99, and he deserves another shot at a head coaching job.
Who will be Phil's eventual successor with the Lakers? If the Lakers do go on a championship run, it may be years before we find out. I like rambis, but I'm not so sure i like his odds of getting the nod when that happens.
On a separate note, it would be great to see Kareem get a full-fledged assistant coach position. _________________ BORN REBLE |

has he already been interviewed? is that allowed given the laker season isn't even done yet? if not, how can he be the leading candidate?
...wish him luck with the suns ...even if he knows what the lakers are going to do, he doesn't have the talent on the team to stop them. _________________ Laker Fan from Sac! |

I don't think that same policy applies for Assistants. Did'nt Shaw interview for the Bulls HC vacancy a few weeks ago? _________________ I Don't Give A Damn About My Bad Reputation.... Joan Jett |

I can't see Shaq allowing this. The Suns don't want an angry Shaq. Dan got out in time. _________________ "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships."
