Bynum is in great shape. I coach football at El Segundo High and he was out on our track today running with what looked like a conditioning coach. He looks ripped and toned, hes actually very fast for a 7-footer.
The trainer worked him hard, having him do combinations of 1/4 and 1/2 mile runs and sprint intervals. We should all be excited about his return this year, Mitch was right...its obvious he worked hard while out with injury because the guy has almost no body fat and is looking fast. |

I never knew why more basketball players didn't play football. Top two I can think of are Gates and Peppars. Imagine a 7-footer in football pads.

Wow - I thought he was in the ATL. Glad to have your eye-witness account. As coach, don't you have access to the AV department, because seeing some tape of his work-out tomorrow would be great. Maybe you could tape it Bill Belichek style. |

Guaranteed contracts.
Less risk of injury.

He usually comes back to town a month before training camp, so he can start working with Kareem. |

Actually, that tends to cost money due to all the paternity suits... ba-da-bump. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Don't the Lakers have multi-billion dollar facilities? Why is he working out at a high school? _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

Kobe did that early in his career when he lived in the Palisades. _________________ Jeffs

Two others I can think of: Tony Gonzalez was a pretty good forward at Cal for two years I think before concentrating on football, and Charlie Ward was a long time NBA veteran pg and a Heisman Award winner at Florida State.... |

I can understand that ...the Lakers facility does not include a track field ... |

Hope he can stay healthy. He's obviously got the drive and work ethic to make the most of his talent - if his body (knees) can stay healthy. _________________ "Why do you think bad things happen, anyway???" "So we have something good to look forward to."

Well, that's fantastic news!
But until he beats Usain Bolt in the 100 meters, I'm not going to get too excited. |
