About five years ago, I wrote an article for lakerstalk about the Triangle Offense. I used my old computer today and I noticed that file just sitting there. So I thought I might as well share it again and to help people understand it.

It's a pdf file. 67 pages with 131 diagrams. I can say with confidence that no one else has ever written about the triangle in so much detail, not even Tex Winter in his books. So what you will read describes pretty much every option in the system.

Wilt, impressive. Can we assume you put this thorough package together at a time in your life when you were single?

You'd be right.

I used to spend a lot of time analyzing games. I watched games over and over again, even preseason games. I have a huge library of VHS tapes from the three-peat years.

I am a lot more relaxed today.

I don't recommend it, tbh. It was written about 40 years ago, and the offense has developed a lot over the years. So you'll get a lot more info with my diagrams and it's free.

I'll give it a browse and if it catches my interest, I'll take a further look.

Thank you Wilt,

That is quite the exhaustive and definitive document on the Triangle.

I started reading it at work and each diagram sparked a video clip in my head of that diagram being ran.

needless to say I had to stop and get back to work.

thanks

Thanks Wilt! Downloaded, reading, and analyzing...

...and the learning begins now.

Nice work. If only Kwame Brown had something like that, he may still be a Laker....
