Also, the Lakers broke the San Antonio title-every-odd-year curse.

I believe the injury was on his other hand, I think on the same finger he dislocated earlier.

It looks like it... But the first quarter was definitely his right hand. Anyone have any knowledge on that? Did he dislocate it again?

When he jammed his finger and they had to call a time out.

How many of you had a flash of "OH NO! THERE GOES THE TITLE...."?

I know I did. For a brief moment...

Not for a second. Why would you think he would sit out when the guy didn't miss a second after dislocating his finger the first time?

He's probably the only player in any sport that I've seen whose ankle could snap in half right before my eyes, and I'd say, "Meh, he'll be fine."

I never get the same sinking feeling when he gets hurt that I do when other guys go down.

I had a brief flash of "oh f**k!" But then I quickly realized that three of Kobe's fingers could have been lying on the floor in a puddle of blood and he'd still play. And win!

No, not even for a second. As long as his hand was still attached to his arm, I knew he would keep playing.

I honestly wasn't concerned. Kobe's had his finger snapped back into place, taped and came back shooting. The only thing that would have kept him from returning to action would have had to something catastrophic. Plus something being unmentioned, this team is a team, a solid, talented unit. Yes we wouldn't be where we are without Kobe but last night I think the unit in place would have still prevailed. Now let's hope the good Doctor sees fit to keep the core in place.

I figured, hey he's made it this far with that severed tendon, is Kobe really gonna let that keep him out of the biggest game of his career? I think if his finger was about to fall off he'd still stay out there and would just start shooting left-handed. Maybe I had an instinctive reaction that comes from seeing a player in pain, but I easily reasoned myself out of it within about 5 seconds.

If it was Bynum's finger he might miss the next 2 seasons, but Kobe? Maybe a play or two TOPS

I started to make Stan Van Gundy impressions and wailed my arms in a panic.

Then I thought back to Cleveland when Kobe got injured in a similar way.

No worries. Orlando's done.

Anybody other than Kobe Bryant, I would of been right with you. But I've seen Kobe play through injuries that left other players running to the locker room for ten years now. Nothing was getting in his way of that NBA title.

If it was Paul Pierce's finger, they would have brought out the stretcher.

Nope, because even if Kobe weren't able to shoot well, there's still no way the Lakers lost three straight to the Magic even with a handicap Kobe.

Didn't even contemplate it. Kobe was going back in there even if he broke both arms and legs.

I thought about it for a while then I realized he's been playing 19 straight months of basketball with what, three dislocated fingers?

I thought about the knuckleheads who earlier had hoped the Lakers would lose games in Orlando so that they would clinch in LA....which was asinine---you win as soon as possible because you never know what can happen
