I know that most of you won't agree with me but I think that Kobe's suspension is a good thing for the Lakers...
1) It'll show Mitch & Buss how weak the lineup really is even with Lamar still healthy... This will force them to go strong for Artest
2) Most people, including myself are sick of seeing guys waltz down the lane and just laying the ball up... mostly evident in the Miami & Memphis games... Maybe our bigs will stop playing so soft and do something...
3) Gets Kobe some rest... This is probably the biggest advantage as our next two games are against Utah, I believe and they are missing AK47...
Kobe needs to get his legs back
4) If the Lakers can reel off the next 2 wins, maybe Kobe will start to trust the offence a little more, as he's been straying from it on way too many opps this year... Even though I agree that it's our best option now that Kobe shoot alot, he still needs to build the confidence of his teammates and help the Triangle along... Even if that means losses...
My hope is that #1 happens and the Lakers do take all these Artest rumors into fruitation... We sorely need some help for Kobe as he's still our best perimeter defender and Kobe just doesn't have the gas in the tank to take over games against the elite on most nights... On very rested games he can do this but on back to backs our chances are almost zero that Kobe has enough energy... |

Good, I suppose. At first I thought bad, but after thinking about it I've changed my mind.
Kobe could use a rest, not just physically, but mentally. He is REALLY angry right now and seems like he could snap at any time. I think some time off will do him well. |

Utah are not missing AK-47, he will play. Also, they have won two straight. Good news is, Lakers are on the tail end of a back2back for Utah, Our best chance is to win the first game. @Utah will be a lot more difficult now. |
