I just got done reading a hoopsworld article that suggested that the Lakers should do this deal. Personally I'd do it in a second. We woudn't lose on the rebounding plus we'd be getting an aggressive player that can actually make 3pt shots.

Pierce currently makes $12,584,700 per year and his contract runs through the 200-2007 season with a player option for an additional year. This would fit nicely into the Lakers’ plan to clear cap space in the next couple of years so they can make a run at the free-agent market; part of the reason the Lakers gave up Butler in the first place. Odom makes $10,548,600 so there may have to be some tweaking of the deal to make it work, but with the expiring contract of Slava Medvedenko ($3,000,000) that shouldn’t be too difficult.
