First one to say Star Wars prequels gets a kick in the ass...

Here's the wikipedia entry on those movies: link.

They can be any type of disaster movie (nuclear, earthquake, meteor/asteroid, alien), but they all have to deal with the end of mankind or something of that effect. But these shouldn't be dystopian worlds...

Some of my faves...
War of the Worlds (2005)
Supervolcano (Yellowstone documentary)
Dr. Strangelove
Signs

Probably the Star Wars prequels.

Honestly, if you consider "The Rock" a disaster film than that is probably my favorite. The nukes may never be fired, but it comes close enough.

Apollo 13 is classic. The first Jurassic Park.

I know what you're talking about but I don't know how you could classify "Supergator", "Ice Spiders", or "Sharktopus" as stupid.

I dug 28 Days Later.

Children of Men - outstanding.

Deep Impact was horrible for a lot of reasons but I thought they did they actual destruction scenes very well.

So, it's 1/4 of comedy, 1/4 of porn, and 1/2 of blood bath?

Then yes, that adds up.
