The Lakers are playing poor right now, however beyond that, teams are getting hyped to play the Lakers again since Kobe's 81. The Lakers (mainly Kobe) are/were creating a buzz again (i.e MSG) and teams are coming out of the gate ready to play. Even the Knicks came out with a quick 9pt lead.

Kobe's Jersey quickly went to no.1 after the 81, and the talk was back on the Lakers. These teams come out with extra adrenaline and shooting the lights out, making it more difficult to compete.

My prediction: as the losses pile up in this rut, and 81 becomes further away, teams will be less up for the Lakers, the Lakers will regain their composure, heal their injuries, get some energy from Turiaf, and return to being an above average team who will hopefuly play Dallas in the first round.

Sasha missing open shots and the team playing zero D has nothing to do with the hype of the game. I would have expected the team to raise their level of play to Kobe's after that game instead of succoming to their opponents intensity and will.

It has everything to do with momentum however, which is hard to gain when every opossing player is having a career game.

No I think it's just poor defense, and lack of other players stepping up and the injuries at the side.
