If the trade deadline passes and Slava is still on our roster, his contract will cease to be a trade asset and the Lakers will hopefully cut him and open up a roster spot.

The team needs quality depth at every position, but one notable possibility is Marcus Fizer. He's a decent low post scorer, he knows the triangle, and he seems to be somewhat healthy (if his NBDL production is any indication).

Money mentioned his name today during the Laker pre-game show, so the Lakers might actually be interested.

Does anyone know why he's out of the league and playing in the NBDL now? Is it just that his numerous injuries have signficantly reduced his effectiveness, or is he a character risk also?

I would sign him for the rest of the season with a team option for next year. It wouldn't hurt. We suck as it is. I've seen him play, he has some talent around the basket. Maybe Phil and Kobe can slap some sense into him and get him going.

Now with Turiaf, we'd have some glut at the PF position but why the hell not? Kwame seems so useless.
I say yes, I'd cut Slava and sign Fizer, however I know Buss doesn't like losing any money so no.

This is the team we have now. This is the team that will finish this season, hopefully in the playoffs.

I'd take a Grant (bad knee or not) anyday over a 100% fit Fizer.

It couldn't hurt, especially with Mihm out L.A. needs a low post threat because Kwame is just not doing the job.

fizer does have the ability to score and even at times, create his own shot. we don't have many of those on our current roster, it's worth a look as far as i'm concerned.

Marcus Fizer is better than anything we have at PF right now besides maybe Cook. He is undersized, but has a big body to bang around at 260 lbs. Definitely a bigger offensive threat and has some nice post moves I once saw against a game in Toronto. Averaged a career high 12 ppg once with 6 boards at 25 mpg. Once grabbed 20 boards, and scored 30 twice. Give it a shot, because we now we're

Yeah last year some on here shot down every player mentioned for the Lakers. Kapono was laughed at, but I bet he can outshoot most on this team. Miami feels he can help them. I would take Fizer over Devin Green, Slava and a few others on this roster right now

I think it's safe to say we'll take anyone who has a chance of contributing at all.
