If what Cuban said is true then I am more then a bit worried.

On his website Cuban stated that Kobe is leading the league with technicals (he has been very emotional this season) with 11 but more interestingly (and scary) is that he said on the 16th technical it is an automatic one game suspension. And every technical after that is a one game suspension.

Unfortunately with Kobe putting his heart out on his sleeve every night you know that he is going to get to 16 and probably pretty quick.

Hopefully Phil takes note, and lets #8 know that he has to keep his head in the game and away from the refs. Last thing we can afford is to lose kobe for 5 games or so due to T's.

It's true, they are aware of it. Lakers have made Kobe aware of it.

Really?

I didn't know about that rule.

So Kobe has 4 to spare ...

I hope he uses them wisely. But Kobe is at home for a long stretch. I think he doesn't lose his cool at home as much as he does on the road ....

if by chance it does, and we lose because of it. I'm turning the TV off for the remainder of the offs. straight up BOYCOTT. or STERNCOTT.

blame artest for this rule - it is a direct reaction to the brawl, and stern's attempt to rehabilitate the image of the NBA (dress code, etc.)

I wonder how many players know about the 'new rule'? Is KB8 was aware of it before Cuban wrote about it?

Actually Rasheed Wallace leads the league with 12 and Kobe is second with 11 (link). This automatic suspension rule I believe was put in for Wallace as the league was tried of him constantly racking up technicals at very little cost to his team.

Sometimes a little voice inside my head wonders why these refs have never gotten a flagrant outside the arean -- sorry but it is true

There's already a couple threads on this, one of which you started. How many threads do we need about Cuban's blog entry on Phil or about Kobe's technicals?
