Whether we trade up or trade down, who do you want to see the Lakers draft in the lottery regardless of Phil returns or not?
I only listed the realistic or rumored options below due to limited numbers of poll option listing..... Feel free to add your own write in vote.
* Trading out of the Lottery can be one of your options as well.
Note: I mentioned players only to be drafted in the LOTTERY, not 17th, not 37th or 39th. Lottery = Top 15 Picks. _________________ This game is in the refrigrator! Door's closed, light's out, egg's cooling, butter's getting hard and the jellllloooo is jiggling. - You'll be greatly missed, Chick. |

realistically, I doubt if we can get higher than a sixth pick (at best).
regardless, my choice is:
raymond felton
(he's what we need and might be the BPA, along with danny granger) |

Well, this is my first post so i figured i would start with the start of a new laker team. I personally would like to see raymond felton in the purple and gold. I would only go with this pick if we can get the bobcat trade to occur. If this trade were to not go down...i would have to say we take Andrew Bynum for the simple fact that he is big and young...a good age to be molded and possible to teach. IMO, i think he could be a mix between Eddie Curry and Snaq. I think that that could work... |

^ Bynum is a nice prospect, but given past history....7 footer with Shaq-like size does usually turn out to be Shaq material.
History shows (based on my recollection)......
Stanley Roberts
Desagna Diop
Brendan Haywood
Eddie Curry (Best Case Sceneario)
Priest Lauderdale
Yinka Dare (Worst Case Sceneario)
Kevin Duckworth
I'm a bit skeptical of this Bynum kid. _________________ This game is in the refrigrator! Door's closed, light's out, egg's cooling, butter's getting hard and the jellllloooo is jiggling. - You'll be greatly missed, Chick. |

Realistically Raymond Felton. Lakers can trade up to get him, most likely. If they stay at 10, then Jarrett Jack would be fine. _________________ Westside |

I am still standing by Bynum. Based on size and brains. _________________ Started posting on Lakersground when it was lakers/rivals.com since Aug.2000. |

The bigs with potential do tend to float up towards the top. I hope there is a sandbagger who wants to be a Laker. If not, Felton should do. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Raymond Felton is the guy I want the most... could only get him by trading up I think...
If we stick with the #10, I would hope we would take a big, Vasquez or Splitter being my top choice there.
If we somehow get the #17, then I say we take a big (Bynum, Diogu, Simien) if we traded up to get Felton, or a PG (Ukic, Jack) if we took a big at #10.
For god's sake, stay away from Taft, Villanueva, Andriuskevicius, and FRye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ -

i pick warrick cause we need an athletic quick leaper small/power forward who can defend and has a nice turnaround jumper. a future highlight real waiting to happen. _________________ "The game's in the refrigerator, the door's closed, the light's out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard and the Jell-O's jiggling." |

Not sure about the other two. Seems like Andriuskevicius is going to pull out of the draft. But I sure as hell dont want Taft and Villanueva due to the poor work ethic. _________________ This game is in the refrigrator! Bynum. I think our pg needs can be met in other ways and if we play the triangle pretty easily filled. Bynum is only 17 1/2 years old and may still be growing. He seems to really have addressed his weight/fitness issues. Yes it is a big risk but if it pans out we have a monster center for 15+ years.
W/ Kobe, Phil, Tex, Rambis, Shaw, Stu, etc molding this kid combined w/ what seems like a high intellect and great attitude/support system I really like the kids chances.
You gotta risk to reward and something tells me this kid will at least be steady in the league if not a star.
I also think that Kobe will do a lot to push this kid along and there really are no sure things at the tenth pick. |

On second thought, if we're assuming one of those players listed in the poll are available, I'd be very tempted to take Gerald Green. But damn that is a big risk. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't know either way, as I've seen basically 15 minutes of tape on Green. _________________ Westside |
