|
I decided to make this thread because i am outraged that just because the pistons are on pace for what is now 68 wins or whatever, they choose 4 players as reserves in the all star game. I don't believe chauncey should have got it over arenas, i don't believe rip hamilton should get it over arenas. I don't believe rasheed wallace's 15/6 is deserving of an all star spot. Jamison, arenas' sidekick, is getting nearly 20 and 10!!! Can we hook up Dwight Howard???
As for the talk of Chauncey's MOP(most overated player) campaign............Screw that, he does not make or break the pistons. Steve Nash makes or breaks the Suns. Kobe makes or breaks the Lakers. Even Dirk Nowitzki makes or breaks the Mavs more than Chauncey does.
I am sick and tired of everyone kissing the Pistons ass. If Miami and Detroit play in the playoffs, I'm for the friggin Heat all the way.
Ever think..................Maybe this is what the Laker haters felt like the last 7 years.?????? |

Rasheed and Hamilton definetely do not deserve to be all-stars. The game is about the best players, not the best teams. Freakin 15/6. |

Let's see, Rip Hamilton over:
Michael Redd - 46 46 39.0 .441 .406 .853 1.3 3.3 4.5rpg 2.9 1.13 .00 2.28 2.20 25.1ppg

-Ranks #3 in the NBA in Three-Point Field Goals Made(109.0)
Let's see, Rasheed Wallace 48 48 35.6 .435FG% .3773FG% .730 1.3 5.3 6.6RPG 2.6 1.15 1.60 1.10 3.10 15.1ppg

Ranks #10 in the NBA in Three-Point Field Goal Attempts(252.0) Ranks #15 in the NBA in Blocks(77.0)
Ranks #7 in the NBA in Steals Per Turnover(1.04)
over:
Dwight Howard: 47 47 37.1 .512FG% .000 .613 3.6 9.0 12.6rpg 1.4 .79 1.55bpg 2.49 3.40 15.2ppg
-Ranks #1 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(12.6)
-Ranks #2 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds Per Game
-Ranks #3 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per Game(3.6)
-Ranks #2 in the NBA in Double-doubles(35.0)
Antawn Jamison: 47 45 39.0 .433FG% .4073FG% .721 2.3 7.6 9.9rpg 2.0 1.11 .13 1.74 2.30 19.3ppg
-Ranks #7 in the NBA in Double-doubles(24.0)
Ranks #8 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(9.9)
I could even make a case for Richard Jefferson. But, I won't because I believe Paul Pierce took RJ's spot.
You tell me when is the last time a player averaged 28 points per game and didn't make the all-star team especially behind a 15-6 guy??????? |

Agreed. I can't stand the Spurs. At least the Pistons are more exciting this year than last year. Last year they were a PAIN to watch. |

I have my eyes on the spurs for one reason, i want the lakers too be the team of the 00's, not the spurs. That means alot in the historic sense, when your refer to a team its like the lakers of the 80's or the bulls of the 90's . I sure as hell dont want the spurs of the 00's or whatever we;ll call this decade. And the count is Lakers 3, Spurs 2, Pistons 1. The way i think it will go is the lakers control the first half the spurs and pistons get some in the middle and the lakers will close out with another 3 peat. |

Im fine with billups(clutch shots, high assists), ben wallace(very good defensive player), and even Rip(alot of points on high fg percentage) being in the ASG. But not cool with Rasheed. He really hasnt done anything to warrant him a spot on the team. _________________ Pain is temporary, at the end of pain is success... |

This "Team over Star" concept is rotting coaches' brains when it comes to all-star voting. Of course coaches would want to have a cohesive team over a star-oriented/one-man dominated team. Doesn't necessarily mean they need to force-feed their wishes upon the fans.
The league markets itself around their stars, so for the all-star game, the coaches give the league... their best team players? Brilliant.
No problem with Billups and Ben Wallace -- but as kobekillinu2nite points out, there are more SGs in the East that have helped their team more than Rip, and putting both Arenas and Redd for Rip and Wallace (regardless of position) would be a better option IMO. |

Arenas Replaces Jermaine On All-Star Team.
Quote: | Press Release - Washington Wizards forward Gilbert Arenas has been named by NBA Commissioner David Stern to replace injured East All-Star Jermaine O’Neal (torn left groin) of the Indiana Pacers on the Eastern Conference roster for the 2006 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 19 at Toyota Center in Houston.

Glad they remedied the Arenas situation. I saw today only two other players in NBA history have scored more than Arenas and not been in the all-star game. Arenas is just sick and manages to dish 6 assists and steal almost 2 per game also.
I agree, the all-star game is about the seasons individual players are having. No way Billups shoulda been in over Arenas.
Don't get me started on Chris Paul though...that was just plain robbery... |

I am going to die if Spurs and Pistons play for the championship again. I would rather watch golf I guess. _________________ Be nice to Mitch and everyone in this planet. Never do evil or commit any act that might hurt others' feelings. We must all become environmentalists.

rasheed wallace doesn't deserve to be an all-star. idiot prince thinks he should be an all-star but he sucks like hell. Gilbert Arenas should have been in wallace's place. |
