13.8ppg (53.2% FGP) and 4.0apg on 1.83TOpg since joining the Twolves. FYI. In case people still thought he wasn't worth getting.

I was cool with trying to get him, but am surprised by how well he's come
out offensively.

His career numbers offensively are pretty sad.

I woulda loved to have him.

That said, don't expect him to go 53.2% on the season (or Cookie to score 28ppg)

These things happen.

Seriously. Can you imagine how hard we'd all laugh if people from other message boards looked at Cook's last two games and were like "Oh my god, why weren't we trading for this guy!? He's a monster!"

I think Banks would have been nice to have, but it's only been 6 games. He was just ok in Boston during the few minutes he was getting. What is it with this place and longing for players that we got then lost, tried to get, or thought about getting? Did you also notice that Minny is 2-4 in the 6 games since he's been there?

It is only 6 games, but if he shoots anywhere above 44% he looks like a nice throw in.

The point is the Lakers have been getting killed defensively at the point guard position for going on 5 years now, and Marcus Banks is a very impressive on-ball defender. He would've been a good pickup for that reason alone. Now, as his recently ramped up offensive play answers criticisms about that part of his game, his aqcuisition would seem to have been even more useful to this team.

And my point was...so? He was almost a Laker once, so obviously they would have liked to have him. I'm not arguing that he wouldn't have been a nice pickup, but what purpose does it serve to start a "Look what we could have had" thread?

you have gary payton to thank , and no one else. not getting banks was not mitch's fault.
And, if we had gotten banks, we might have made the playoffs last year, so NO BYNUM.

Let it die.

he still aint worth getting, to play within the triangle. not until that 3pt shot becomes legit. put banks within this tri, and watch him average 6 poitns, with 42%FG, and 30 something percent from behind the 3pt line. also assist will be at 2 per game. why? because you have to be able to knock down a 3, and know how to run an offense to play pg in this tri. banks has never really showed me he can run an offense. he can run.. but not an offense.

Banks = athletically gifted and mentally challenged

The triangle would be too much for him to figure out. I'll admit though, his defense would be a big help.

The Lakers tried to trade for Banks. He was very upset when the Lakers deal was tweaked. He probably wanted to leave Boston. Now that he's elsewhere, he can focus on playing. Boozer was also upset when he wasn't moved to the Lakers. He hasn't been playing much, but it remains to be seen if he's pulling a Baron Davis.
