to my knowledge yes

Actually no. It's not a shot attempt or a rebound unless you convert (score) it.

Really? That's not what I thought the rule was but that's interesting.

Thanks for the score updates CB.

Kirilinko may as well shave off the hair on the side of his head, and look like one of those old "punk rockers"...

I agree nice #'s, and IMO LO was pretty steady 2night. HOWEVER he had a very gaudy 1st half. I was hoping and anticipating a triple dub. he deserved it. he was along with everyone a huge part to the early blowout. Again though he didnt carry over his great 1st half. If he did this game would have been over by the 3rd. Props to LO. Be key to the win

That probably would have hurt a lot if you hadn't included the bolded qualifiers. I guess that makes the crow taste a little less bitter.

Whats your opinion on LO's game? Taking into account the timing of his #'s. Separate 1st half and second half

Lakers just suck. They again were not thinking ahead and played defense and won this game by at least ten points to own the tie breaker. They have now lost tie-breakers against Memphis, Utah, and Minny, all teams that may be contending for the final three spots with the Lakers. Good jub. Now all we have to do is lose the tie breaker to Sacramento, Hornets and Clippers and we're setting ourselves up for a disaster if teams are withing a game or two of each other come April.

Lakers stop giving Lamar post up oppurtunities.. Thats why his point total stops at 17. This is why i wanted to watch the game with the fans. Usually i will make a point, and ppl will call me crazy.I wanted to watch the game with everyone and make my points.

When kobe is taking long range jumpers. Lamar could be in the post getting a 3 foot jump hook.Lamar should have had 25 points tonight

Hopefully, the trend will continue... Phil's Laker Teams tend to come alive, after the All-Star Break...

It sure looks like we haven't been utilizing alot of the talents that we have... We see glimpses, and we wonder... "Why can't they do that all the time??"

i didnt see LO trying to get position all that often. Look LO's game was nice, but if people think i am eating crow they are nuts. He dramatically dropped off in the 2nd half, when we most needed him. That is just par for course with him being grossly inconsistent. I cant find his 1st half stats

1st half: 9-6-6.

2nd half: 8-3-2.

You can't always have a great half in both halves of the game. Few players do. Lamar had an excellent first half and a good second half. His second half would have been a lot better, with about 5-6 assists, if the guys would catch the ball and make easy shots.

Plus, he's injured, which is noticeable in some rebounding situations where he doesn't have the right arm extension he normally has. He lost a few rebounds tonight to that against Boozer.

Kobe had 6 assists in the first-half.

One 1 in the second.

Crongrats to kobe for career high in steals. However, this is a classic example of how steals don't equate to good defense, Brown score 25 pts on 7 for 13 shooting.

guys,

I think NBA should credit assists to passes leading to made FTs...whatdyathink?

They will never do it as it would make it easier to break any current NBA assist record.

I agree. What's more, I agree with the decision not to change it, AND I agree that the pass that leads to made free throws should be considered the same as an assist.

The problem is that guys like John Stockton, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, and others would be passed by rather easily by players who are not even close to being their peers in talent and performance.

Unless they could retroactively credit all the passes that led to made free throws as assists through the history of the league, they should leave it as it is. (Of course, that condition is ludicrous. The statistics don't exist and couldn't even be reconstructed from any available record.)
