Well, for some reason I couldn't add my third option, which was the whole danged point of this thread!!!
My point is that they are both so gawd danged awful, and I can't stand back-to-back years of having the worst defensive PG in the business. And if the Lakers management doesn't make a deal for a legit PG by the trade deadline, I'm gonna go down to HQ and make like Brando in On the Waterfront... I'm gonna take it out of their skulls!!! _________________ -

I think it's funny that most people didn't even know who smush was at the beginning of the season and now the expectation level is that he should be a lock down defender. He's not and that's that. You don't just pick up a lock down defender from FA try-outs. Smush is a decent player and a decent defender for where we got him, it's our expectations of him that have changed. He should be a solid bench player, but we're starting him out of necessity.
So all that said, his defence has declined a bit since the beginning of the season |

well, tough one but:
Smush showed signs of good D, but those days seem long ago. Both players get smoked trying to keep up with ohter guards. Matador defense is in full effect with smush or chucks. In that department, both player are equally weak.
If offense as a defense can be considered. I think chucky has the advantage. He seemed to be the better shooter and a consitant 10+. Problem was ed get 10 the opposing guard would get 25.
If offense as Defense can be thrown into the mix: Slight edge Chucks.
Thats not to say that smush cant improve. |

Man 2 man both are terrible. Smush has his moments and so does Chucky. Chucky actually blocked a shot in last nights game. But, man 2 man are equal almost. Smush does however steal better, and that is part of defense overall, but not man 2 man. Smush. |

Chucky is a better defender. He actually tries somewhat similar to Sasha, but when you play on a team that doesn't ask for it, or the team doesn't do it as a whole...well you know the rest. Caron is a good defender, and yet you would of never guessed it from last year. |
