Devean George
Slava Medvedenko
Aaron McKie
2.2 million dollar trade exception
for
Steve Francis
I dont think there is any way we could turn that trade down.. Orlando just wants someone to take Francis contract, and that would do it. For those of you who wanna play the "hes TO prone" card, remember that he wont be playing PG in the triangle.. Odom has and will continue to.
Franchise would step in and immediately give us 20/5/5 as the 2nd option to Kobe, and would give Odom someone else to fall back on. Not to mention, when Kobe needs a rest, we can still run the offense through Stevie.
If it costs us a solid bench player, two crap players, a trade exception, and possibly a first round pick.. I dont get why in the hell we would say no. _________________ “These young guys are playing checkers. I'm out there playing chess.” - Kobe Bryant |

A pick would have to be thrown in, but of course I would. We gain a legit 2nd option and improve defence at the PG position. We lose none of our core players and most importantly ensure that we at worst make 2nd round playoffs. Giving up trash for treasure is a no brainer. But I'm sure someone will come in and find a way to crap on this thread. |

I think Orlando wants more than that for Francis. We'd need to include a 1st rounder, and at least one of the following:
Mihm
Cook
Kwame
And I would still do it _________________ -

For bargain basement prices like that I would do it. But my plan would be to play francis to showcase him and get his value back up. I'd pull a full blitz PR campaign to show how he's a good guy and look to use him as a trading chip in the off-season, maybe in a package deal.
One of the main reasons we can't do a deal for a great player right now is we don't have any talent to trade. Francis would be that talent. KG anyone? |
