Actually, defensively the whole team was at fault (yes, even Kobe). They all played like they wanted to go home and rest at the all-star break.

Smush is a fine backup, there is no reason to trade him unless there is a team that would overpay for him.

LOL...So now it's Smush tries to dunk too much and Kwame doesn't try to dunk enough.

The guy wasn't even in the league last year. We have a rep of doing that. Samali Samake and Mike Penberthy rings a bell.

Right. Let's trade our PG, cus we don't really have any others. I mean, if someone wanted to include him in a trade that brought back Duhon or Watson, by all means. He's the best player we have for the position. Don't trade him yet. He plays 40+ minutes for a reason.

And that reason is because we suck at that position. Smush is exciting at times, but most of the time, dude is lazy. Chucky and Tierre were so bad that many fans mistake Smush as a good defender. Wrong!! The only thing Smush does better than Chucky and Tierre is go for steals, as far as moving your feat and one on one defense, Smush is crap. Smush is a journeyman and Sasha is a home-builder. I'm not so sure our problem is Lamar or Kwame.

Apparently smush missed a wide open dunk in the closing seconds? I read it briefly here and jus read it in the espn game cap? How much time was left exactly and im in disbelief, a 23 game losing streak to western teams on the road was snapped against us? So we lose to the bobcats to snap their 13 game skid now this . This has been a horendous 8 game run. We are lucky as heck that this team has a run of home games because this team is clearly not as talented as a year ago and needs that break. Believe me we are getting alot of breaks ,thus far, the rockets injury's is quite a break for us, we cant blow it , because i think we all expect t mac and yao too make a mini run soon.

It's funny how people can't seem to make up their minds.

As for the question on trading Smush, no. Too early to give up on this kid, and we only got him for cheap so what's the fuss all about?

1 for 9...what happened from the stat line it looks like we had solid contributions point wise. I know Odom got into foul trouble early but he still managed 7/12 for 17 points. We shouldnt have lost this game.

Enough with this trade___________!!!!!

I have said it before. I would love to see this guy come off the bench!!!!!!!!!! If there is any truth to the latest rumors (Francis and/or Murray), I'm rather excited. Excited to have the opportunity to send Smush to the bench.

What do you say we then send Stevie to DEN for Earl and K-mart????

Go Smush! Go Lakers!!

Smush is one of these players that have their trade value set lower than their contribution level. Just like Mihm.

if we trade smush, who do we look to get? and who do we replace him with?

murry is a good scorer, but his 3pt shot is lacking.

Smush stays. I can't believe he's being compared to Samake and Penberthy.

Like Parker hasn't already proven to be a better player than Atkins on both ends of the floor already?

What exactly do you expect out of an undrafted player? Potential and it's clear he's developed a lot in the past 2 years to warrant 30+ minutes of PT.

Ridiculous. The Lakers would be fortunate to keep him if there is a capspace plan left.

Smush is a no cost bench player who is having to start. No, he stays b/c he is cheap and on some nights he actually can D and score (seemingly at will). Now let's just find a real starting PG.
