In order of finish on the ballots now w/ vote points
01.Tim Duncan 125
02.Kobe Bryant 98
03.Dominique Wilkins 86
04.Allen Iverson 73
05.Bob McAdoo 71
06.Kevin Garnett 50
07.Reggie Miller 41
08.Connie Hawkins 33
09.Jason Kidd 25
10.Gary Payton 23

Note the clear seperation between 1 then 2,3 then 4,5, then the rest. I agree with that b/c KG through GP are solid but don't call for the attention or acclaim as the rest.

Wait so NBA will hold it? When? Can we add Kobe as Top 60 to his resume after tomorrow then?

Only thing that surprised me was Connie Hawkins making it over Bernard King.

I knew Nique would get in unless they were limiting it to recent players.

I actually thought McAdoo was already on there (he should have been).

Yup, and it will be a case of Homeritis at its finest.

There is no way that Kobe deserves to be above Duncan. After Shaquille, there is nobody who has been so dominant as Tim in this league over the last decade. MVPs, Finals MVPs, rings as the number one option, stat titles, etc. He goes under the radar because of his personality, but he is an all-time great.

How nice of you to neglect the fact that throughout that time Kobe was never the really the #1 option on his own team, and if he was, we would have clearly seen a difference in ranking. But it doesn't matter, because that will change now that Kobe has full-reign. I'll pick Kobe anyday over a guy who coasts from time to time. The fetishism you guys have over C's is sickening. Kobe > TD, and any other broken-back stiff.

i don't think Kidd and GP should have both made it, it should have been one or the other and Bernard King should have taken the other spot

^What?!?

While I think King should've made it, they made it clear that his injuries hampered his career.

You'll rarely find PGs that dominated on both ends of the floor every 15 years like that.

We all knew or should have known that Charles would not include Kobe on his list because Charles lets his personal feelings cloud his judgement. This is why I don't take him seriously on the any subject. I would be willing to bet that even Stephan A Smith would have included Kobe.

So we should not be surprised that Charles did not include Kobe and I belive he did so is because he is useless as an analyst, he is forever convinced that the Kobe-Shaq issue was all Kobes fault and he does not want to admit that Kobe, in his own right, is approaching a Jordan type level of status if he hasn't already.

CB needs to be replaced on TNT, most of the time I can't understand a word he says and the others I do, I just think to myself, why do they insist on torturing the viewers with him. I guess every show needs a court jester!

Duncan is the best player on the best team. This is the 3rd of 4th time that he had that distinction. Kobe is simply the best player in the NBA, and I don't believe anyone could look you straight in the face and say that they would rather have Duncan on their team than Kobe.

I think most fans would agree with you that Kobe has more talent.

That said, plenty of them would also take Duncan based on size.

Big > Small is just good GMing.

It's much easier to build a team around a great big than a great swingman.

I reiterate though, Kobe is the most talented player in the league.

That to me makes him the "greatest" player right now.
