Hey, i've never had the chance to visit the states, but its like my life long dream to see the lakers play. I may be taking my girl to new york for her birthday this year and may try n tie it in with a game. Can any of you guys describe what its like and where's best to sit (obviously court side but those tickets are $$$$$$$$ right?) and what the atmoshphere is usually like etc?

Also does anyone have any pictures they can post up of when you've been at games?

Thanks guys

If you're "upper deck" - look up the face-values for tickets online. You'll
find you get what you pay for.

Lower deck is more to do with preferences, but the prices are still based
on demand, so therefore they're "get what you pay for" for most people
out there.

The best seats I ever had were right behind the Wizards bench when
the Lakers visited Washington, D.C. about 5 years ago.

Those were excellent.

I prefer sitting a little to one side or the other, from the side-view, than
sitting at the midcourt-line (too hard to see well to both sides from there,
you're better off IMO being able to see one side of the court really well).

Atmosphere-wise, I can't speak for the Garden, never been. But the
Wizards arena was pretty laid-back. More like a baseball game indoors
than a football game as far as the crowd goes (again, that's just the Wiz
and they weren't exactly a good team).

I'd expect at the Garden you'd have more vocal fans.

In the lower section, I personally find the best value is in the corners. Gives a great view of one hoop for less $$. If you can get info on where the benches are, try for the Lakers bench side so you get the 2nd half on your side.

Good tips thanks a lot! I go to premiership football (soccer) games over here all the time and the atmospheres are always electric. I can imagine it would be slightly more calmer at an nba game. But bball is my first love and i really wanna come see a game. Lakers in the playoff finals agains the heat would be good?!?
