Has anyone used NBA League Pass broadband before? One of my good friends moved up to the bay area and is trying to figure out the best way to catch Lakers games. With the TNT/ESPN/ABC heavy schedule, he wanted to make sure he knew what he was getting into.
Thanks!

Yeah, it's great. Only time they don't show the game is when it's covered by a national telecast (ESPN,TNT, etc...)
Hope that doesn't change with the new TV deal, because I live in Seattle (from LA) and NBA TV plus broadband is how I watch every game. |

The blackout games (TNT/ESPN/etc) are a problem and a total hassle if the plan is only to use Broadband. A better plan would to get somebody he knows in LA to set up a Slingbox for him.

Doesn't it blackout all local games if you are "in market"? _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Yes, it does. So for me (in LA) it would be worthless if my team is the Lakers. But he's in SF and that is considered out of market for Lakers.
Thanks everyone. |

Thanks, that's mainly what I wanted to see. If it wasn't TNT, then it would be more manageable with ESPN3 and OTA. But the TNT games are often the ones you want to see! |

Hmm.. you might be right. I know that those are a total pain the ass even with LP on TV because you have a recording set to record it, but all of a sudden the day-of it changes channels to NBATV because of some crappy fan vote. It's exhaustively annoying.
And I forgot about the Local Market thing. If he's in SF then games against the Warriors are possibly going to be blacked out on LP Broadband as well -- they're definitely blacked out with regular LP.

You're correct. They are blacked out. As I recall, I don't think it shows up as an option when it list the games you can watch. |

All NBA tv games are blacked out.
Pretty much expect 1/3rd of the games to be blacked out. |
