The idea of him going to the Clippers struck me today; they need depth, Mags. is hurt most of the time, he could stay in LA, and Sterling seems willing to pay for talent now. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

You think we'll blow the 2007/2008 cap plan for George? _________________ -

I can actually see this happening. Although I'd hate to lose Bynum. I'd absolutely hate it. |

I don't know if anyone figured out if they guaranteed Kwame's 3rd yr or not, but if they did Devean will probably be resigned. |

I would consider that deal, just because we get to keep Mihm at Center. At times, we could even look at a big lineup with Mihm, Kwame and KG. Only problem I would have is Luke Walton would get more playing time (unless we pick up another SF). _________________ Just chill and watch the new Dynasty evolve...

I'd hate it too.
If Minny likes it, they better take it this summer
Cuz a year later and, given KG's age, I might be on Dude's page about
not pulling that trigger. |

He is playing well but damn, talent??
Thats funny that you would say that Mags is always hurt and George would be nice to fill in, HA I guess if they time their injuries one will always be available. |

Lamar + Bynum + S&T Devean for KG came up today in a conversation at work, oddly enough. In that same conversation, I was told that Indy was interested in George, though I thought that seemed unlikely.
BTW, the above wasn't intended to sound like insider information. Some dude I was talking to just read something about Indy being interested on the internet or in a newspaper somewhere, that's all. Don't start any threads about me. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

George has proven MORE injury prone that Corey.
Not to knock the kid playing well right now either though.
If he stays healthy for the rest of the season he'll have a lot of choices playing for partial MLE. Not a bad pick-up for any squad. |

I think he'll resign with the Lakers, it's a system that he thrives in and is comfortable in. |

Other things being equal, DG probably would stay with the Lakers. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

after the way DG has been playing there is no way in hell he'll be a laker next year (assuming we don't blow the cap space plan)
sorry, DG is a goner. _________________

I know, I hated throwing in the "talent" word, but DG has some "value" as a 10 point, 5 rebound player. I think Mags. has averaged something like 40 games a year the past 3 years, so I could see the Clipps offering a multi-year MLE (if they have it) for a similar player to Mags. If the clipps had had any depth this year at the 3 and the 5 position, they would be the runaway winner of this division. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Clippers can't take him, unless they let go Radmanovic and Cassel ( or they sign them for cheap, which is unlikely).
I can see us giving him 2 years +1 year- team option .
If someone else give him long term full MLE, is gone, BTW. |

I would give him a two year deal at around 13 million - with the 2nd year being a team option.
He is definitely a MLE calibar player for the Lakers. He is a veteran player that solidifies the SF spot.
And if Odom goes out in a trade for KG or JO - we will need him even more. |

If we trade for KG or JO , there won't be cap problems anymore, so we could sign George long term matching the best offer he get as a FA. |

13 million is a little pricey for a player like Devean, but I'd do it. I think that he is that important to our team. Notice that when he plays good, we usually win. His energy and defense off the bench are good for us, and he knows the tri. _________________ Good Laker book I recommend, "The Biggest What-If's in Lakers History" http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-What-Ifs-Angeles-History-ebook/dp/B00BB3OEC0 |

If we don't make any trades this summer, then losing DG will be another step back for the team. I don't really trust that he'll ever be all that consistent but as of right now, he is our best player off the bench.
We already don't have all that much talent. If they wont reason DG for some 2007 or 2008 or whenever plan, I doubt we'll get anything useful out of MLE. So unless you're banking on Devon Green, Wafer, or Bynum to make huge strides next year, our bench will be that much weaker. _________________ "There's a fine line between stupid and clever." |
