|
|
I mean specifically things that keep happening...
1. Leaving good shooters open. Peja, Wally, and as you saw tonight Radmonobitch. You'd think after they drop 2 or 3 on you, we'd finally close on them. Wheres Rick Fox when ya need him?
2. Not jumping to contest a shot. Smush and Kwame are the main culprits. They hardly ever jump to contest a jumpshot. It gets annoying seeing bigs drop easy floaters over kwame cause he cant hop 1 feet off the ground to contest a shot.
3. Not running plays for Brian Cook!!! Okay, if were gonna insert him in the lineup, can we please take advantage of his main skill? Hes not out their for his defense. Run plays to get him open. Chances are hell hit a wide open shot.
4. Kobe taking too many heat checks with his 3 pointers. Once he hits one 3 pointer, he needs to take about 3 or 10 more to check himself again. Especially the deep 3 pointers.
5. Please stop running plays for Kwame!! Kwame keeps stalling the offense. He holds the ball till the shot clock get down to about 5 seconds. Even when someone is open, he doesnt pass the ball. Just lacks court vision and patience.
6. Smush parker creating his own shots. Unless its a dunk or layup, I dont want to see Smush trying to create his own shots. He has a horrible mid range game. He needs to realize hes just a spot up shooter and not Tony Parker.
7. Odom taking 3 pointers. You cant shoot buddy.
8. Phil not calling timeout during opposing teams runs. _________________ Pain is temporary, at the end of pain is success... |

The fact that we are a .500 team with a superstar like Kobe. I can accept such mediocrity when the best player on the team is Sedale Threatt. But when you have arguably the best player in the league on your team, it is not only inexcusable, it is unacceptable. Annoying? It is Infuriating. |

Amen! It's the easiest thing to guard a jump shooter, just stick close to him no matter what. But these idiots keep sagging off the guy, even after he drained a few shots. How stupid is that? And they keep doing the same thing game in and game out, amazing.
It's crazy how bad the offense can look, they pass the ball around and give it to #8 with 5-6 sec left and he chuck up a shot. Run some pick and roll with Cook and Kobe, instead of giving the ball to Kwame or have Smush trying to create.
Tell Kobe to stop roaming on defense and stay close to his man.
Tell Odom to shoot the freaking ball when he drives and get close, instead he pass it back out to the like of Kwame and Sasha for a much lower % shot. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

Lamar Odom
Lamar missing an "and-1" opportunity
Lamar missing a free throw (or two) after failing on the "and-1" opportunity
Lamar missing wide open 3's
Lamar's momentum killing turnovers (compounded by that stupid ass smirk on his face) |

Consistancy of defense.
I know it's a young team, and that's to be expected.
But if ya wanna know what bugs me?
Even knowing it's normal for a young team, it drives me freaking nuts. |

let me see, what annoys me most about this team?
how about the fact that they just plain suck? tonights game was the suckingest suckfest i have ever seen. that first quarter was torture to watch, borderline cruel and unusual punishment for anyone who had to sit through that pathetic display. we looked like the washington generals playin the trotters. |

Constantly blowing leads and the glaring lack, outside of Kobe, of not just talent, but basketball IQ and the composure needed to get back in games when they are behind.
And even worse, the fact that some players on this team the last 2 years don't ever seem to learn from their mistakes and failures. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

Odom taking games off
luke walton wearing a laker jersey
smush having no midrange game, horrible free throw shooting
aaron mckie winning the lottery for only playing in the preseason |

Lamar Odom's up and down play.
Lamar Odom's lack of aggresiveness
Lamar Odom settling for step back three pointers(when attacking the rim will always be his highest percentage shot)
Lamar Odom's inability to use his right hand for a layup (seriously, most basketball players in high school work on their weak hand and can find some success on the court trying to finish with both hands. Lamar is a pro, and this is inexcusable)
Kwame Brown's lack of heart.
Kwame Brown's butter fingers.
Kwame Brown's psychological makeup.
Laker managements inability to make a trade this year, especially for Ron Artest.
Laker management's inabilityto make GOOD trades. I have had alot of patience with Kwame, but I will now stamp him as bona fide failure. he will never ever realize his potential because he does not have the mental makeup to succeed in this league. Boy were we jipped big time by giving up Caron. We also got the wrong pieces in the Shaq trade
Damn. I wish I had the money to submit a tender offer for Buss' shares in the lakers. Get rid of Jimmy, fire Mitch, and bring back Jerry West. |

Leaving great three-point shooters unguarded at the arc.
Fouling opposing guards 30 feet from the hoop (sometimes 40 feet).
Constantly trying to split two defenders with the dribble (unless you are Kobe, usually not a great idea -- often not a great idea even if you are Kobe).
Coaches letting opposing teams go on 20-0 runs before calling a time out.
Lamar being 6'10" with abover-average handles and athleticim and yet still being unable to finish at the rim.
Guards (except for Kobe) that can't shoot from range and have a hard time finishing in the paint.
Bigs who literally cannot catch the ball. Any ball. If the ball was covered in velcro and they had velcro-hook gloves on they'd still find a way to flub the pass.
Bigs who not only can't finish at the rim, but shoot layups so hard that they start a fast break for the opposition.
GM's who are mere figureheads.
Owners who hire GM's to be mere figureheads.
Pie-in-the-sky, totally delusional plans for obtaining a superstar in 2007.
A team that, literally except for one player, can't shoot, and has no one else that can consistently create his own shot.
A coach that is ro rigid in his philiosophy that he refuses to adapt his strategy (even within the his overall philosophy) to the talent at hand.
MLE signings that, literally, amount to NOTHING.
Drafting players that the organization has never worked out.
Not drafting players that the organization not only worked out (and loved), but passed on in favor of players that the organization never worked out.
GM's lacking solid instincts as to who will become a productive NBA player.
Total organizational disregard for defense (tactics, strategy, practice, personnel acquisition).
Poor scouting.
Lack of focus and direction (FO, team).
A team that is running it's star player (a once in a lifetime talent) into the GROUND.
An inability to stop (or even slow) dribble penetration.
Guards who keep going under picks/screens and getting burned.
An inability to defend pick and roll offense.
A Big with no back to the basket game (even though that's where he gets his most frequent opportunity to score0, who refuses coaching from perhaps the greatest post player of all time because said Big sees himself as a face the basket forward (although he averages maybe one jumper every two or three games).
A Coach who refuses to slap the Big referenced above for being such an idiot.

What annoys me about this team? Hmmmm let's see.
I'd say pretty much every damn thing outside of Phil, Kobe, Cook and Mihm annoys me about this team.
I hate:
Lamar's inconsistency
Smush's inconsistency
Kwame's complete and utter inability to do anything on offense
Luke's uselessness
Sasha's repeated bricking of wide bloody open shots
Mckie's inability to get healthy. Or IS he healthy
I'll give both Ronny and Andrew a free pass, since niether can contribute as much as we'd like for obvious reasons. _________________ If you meet the Buddha in the lane, feed him the ball. ~Phil Jackson |

The thing that makes me mad is that kobe wants to win, he gives 100% and players like lamar and Kwame don't give a rat's butt about it _________________ After 7 seasons I am a NON ALL STAR, in fact, I am a ROLE PLAYER making Superstar $$$
