Wilcox was one of my favorite Clips but Im happy he's getting more playing time up north. Here are their stats this season:

Viladimir

With LAC-12.3PPG 2.3 APG 1.25SPG .50 BPG 6.5 RPG

Wilcox

with SEA-13.3PPG 5.3 RPG .75 BPG 0SPG .3APG

Another thing to remember is Wilcox only averaged 4ppg with the clippers while Viladmir averaged 9.

Seattle needed a low-post player, the Clippers needed a shooter. This is one of those rare trades that is good for both teams.

Seattle wins, Radmanovic doesn't play defense and won't be resigned by the Clippers

Umm... this is the Lakers lounge. You should put non-Laker related topics in the NBA forum.

Wilcox doesn' t play any defense and wouldn't have been resigned by the Clippers either. At least Vlade can shoot.

Wilcox shot 7/9 this night and 8/10 the other night.

Rebounds ? Wilcox wins

Blocks ? Wilcox win

only perimeter shooting Rad wins, but when you have Cuttino and Cassel, it's better to keep the big man down low.

As much as his defense is not good , Wilcox is not a matador like rad, who can't play inside.

Now the Clips have no inside presence on the bench : RS , you can survive; PO you'll die with only two inside players.

Radman played pretty good defense last night and has an average of 6.5 boards to Wilcox's 5.3 boards. Radman also picks up a good amount of steals.

I think it's a pretty even trade.

But, it's gona be near imposible for clippers to keep both radman and cassell since they both want a starting position+money. maggette and livingston should start there eventually.

That's fine. He wouldn't have shot like that on the Clippers because he'd be backing up Brand & Kaman, two better post players. There is no questioning that he's a good talent-- that's why the Clippers drafted him so high-- but he just wasn't getting minutes with the Clippers. On the other hand, Vlade can get minutes because he plays SF where they needed perimeter help (at least until Maggette returns).

Actually Vlade averages more boards than Wilcox, but whose counting? Neither is a great rebounder for their size. I"d expect Wilcox to do better since he should have more offensive board opportunities playing so close to the hoop.

Not really. Wilcox isn't a shotblocker and neither is Radmanovich.

Tell that to the Lakers.

No, Wilcox is a horrible defender. That's why he coudn't even get minutes over rookie James Singleton when he was with the Clippers. Maybe he'll be better with more PT in Seattle. Don't confuse his altheticism with his ability... it's not there yet (and it wouldn't be this year, which is as long as the Clippers were gonna keep him).

They still have Z Rebraca, who was playing ahead of Wilcox anyway. And is it your contention that you need three inside players to win in the playoffs? How the hell did the Lakers win all of those championships? Brand and Kaman is probably the best inside team in the NBA already, and they eat up almost all of the minutes. What the Clippers needed was a shooter to keep teams from swarming on the two bigs. With Rad & Mobley, they have to respect the perimeter too.

This is a great one-year rental. You'll see.

I would of liked if the Lakers could of gotten WIlcox. It would of been sick.

1 Smush
2 Kobe
3 Lamar
4 Wilcox
5 Mihm

So pretty much I am saying Kwame is off the bench which I think would be much better. Kwame would be more affective that way anyways.

Wilcox wasn't in the long-term planning of the Clippers. Brand is a stud at PF. Kaman is now growing into his starting role at center. The Clippers needed someone to fill a gap for Maggette who is injured. The trade made sense. Most trades make sense if you look at the salary impications in addition to the player implications. The Clippers will spend their big contract on Kaman, not Wilcox. As for the Lakers getting him, it seems less likely. Seattle will be able to offer him more money. Those who say the Lakers should have traded for him, neglect the fact that the Clippers hate trading with the Lakers.
