Fish, Payton, Chucky, Smush.
Payton was a busta here.
Fish and Smush are average, and Chucky sux.
Is it Nick's curse? Will the Lakers never have a decent PG again? _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Someone tell me why we need a superior PG in the triangle offense? triangle offense doesn't need superior PG's you just need a PG who can create for others. |

Only problem was that Nicky was a crappy point himself. Heck of a shooting guard though. One point guard aspect to his game was his a/to ratio, which in his prime was very good. _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu3vkwP3GHQ |

Hard to find a good PG. Remember, Nicky V was a second round find by West too. I loved when we had Nick, he was always a fun player to watch and has some attitude that this Laker team could use. |

Ron Harper was effective, even late in his career. |

NVE was one of those diamonds that Jerry West found in a pile of lead. he was a 2nd rounder that turned into a all-star. Too bad he was a headcase. Had he kept it together he would have the rings instead of Tyronn Lue. |

I think Smush is one of the only players that Mitch found out of nothing. Even though he's not "great", I was never expecting much from Smush (until he proved that he could bring a little more than nothing to the table).
Granted, he would be much better as a back-up, he's still decent considering he started as a camp invite. _________________ Just chill and watch the new Dynasty evolve...
Time for the Lakers to create a whole new legacy! We want 10 more trophies boys! |

and 3 championships...NVE was good? at what? running down on a 3 on 1 and chucking up a brick from the 3 pt line?
I cheered the day NVE left Lakerland, I knew we finally had a chance to be a good playoff team. _________________

NVE's curse? More like Phil Jackson's. He does not value traditional PG's skillsets. |

Nick hasn't exactly had a stellar career after leaving LA. Maybe he's the one who is cursed. |

Nick has definitely had his ups and downs, but not a bad career since leaving LA. He was The Man in Denver for awhile, though his team lost tons of games. He was awesome with Dallas for a few seasons. This may be his only crack at a championship but I think he's had a solid career. I've always enjoyed watching his competetiveness though. |

3 championships in under a decade since NVE.
What a curse!
Certain franchises have a penchant for certain positions or styles.
You associate the Pistons with defense for instance.
The Jazz with white guys...
Seriously though, PG's have just never been a high priority for us. |

The Lakers have a rich history at every position, except power foward. We've had some pretty good points: Slater Martin, Jerry West, Majic Johnson (All Hall of Famers), Norm Nixon (All Star), Sedale Threatt (underappreciated). It's just under the Jackson era that point gaurds are not a priority. |

Nick The Quick was my 2nd favorite Laker while he was with us and still is one of my favorite players. I (bleep) hate Shaq for having Nick and Eddie traded. Nick may have been a head case but Shaq was 10x worse than Nick. It could have worked out, we didn't have to get rid of NVE. |
