Smush.
I don't mistake effort for achievement.
Smush doesn't care? So he wasn't scoring 11+pts. in the 4th quarter of the last game? _________________ Resident Car Nut.

It's not that he doesn't care. He's been betrayed by college coaches and NBA coaches, as if all of his hardwork denied him bigtime.
Regardless, he's still a better player than Sasha, who mistakes effort with achievement, and picks up bad fouls repetitively. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

I don't know the story of his background. How has he been betrayed? |

sasha is scared to take a layup...dude is 6'7. He never needs to start. I dont care how good u can shoot....and he hasnt proven that in the games yet. Smush...yeah he seems a little lax sometimes...thats for the coach to sit him down and talk to him....but he is a decent shooter...a good finisher...and can get some steals... what shouldnt happen...which does far too much...is that smush has a good quarter...only to see the coach put luke and sasha in for a WHOLE quarter...then the lakers are down...the momentum they had is lost...and then u ask the starters to make up the ground that was lost when phil puts his stunted lineups in the game. |

On potential: Sasha......
if he can get the same kind of shooting going in games as he does in practice,if he can start driving on a consistant basis,if he can take a few mid range jumpers......Lots of "IF's"....... but the improvement is vast compared to last year.....Another year and even two and he will be quite the player I think......
Sasha hustles more, plays with more fire......It seems Smush cares, but is afraid of getting too many fouls and then more time on the pine.....
Smush I think will get better, but Sasha has more upside for the future.....
But..........Actually I would go with George.....no kidding, can we be worse at stopping dribble penetration?Geroge can chase with his length, plus brings all kinds of intangibles......plus we can go in a match up zone.......I think at least try it......bring Smush in for george for 15 minutes, and Sasha for Kobe and Odom.......When Sasha is in he can play the 2 while Kobe plays the 3........They seem to play well together.....
Oh well.....bottomline: We need these next three games,no questions asked...... |

Neither should start. Lakers have holes at the 1 and 4 position. Both of these guys would be fine in backup roles. Smush is more laid back and less active. Sasha is active to a fault. He commits silly fouls and puts us in the penalty every 4th quarter. |

Sasha or Smush?? That's like picking between Sepulveda or the 405 during rush hour. Better have some good tunes cause it's gonna be a long ride either way. |

Why has Sasha yet to unleash this mystical shooting ability that many posters keep alluding to? |

If the Lakers do this, it means we'll see much more of Luke. |

Don't care as long as Phil quits putting all the scrubs in at once. Luke + Sasha + Green = instant L.
Smusha are basically interchangeable. |

Not based on talent but based on effort. Effort = Wins |
Ball game!
Sasha tries, whether the PG makes a shot or not, Sasha will be their playing D. That relentless effort to play Defense, is the exact same kind of defense that Artest plays, though he's admittedly stronger than most every player he guards. Sasha may not have the physical advantages that Artest has, but he has the same kind of mentality.
"You beat me off the dribble or using a screen, you better make it count, cause I'll be on your ass the entire time you're trying to get to the rim."
Smush gives up on plays. Sasha doesn't. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. It's like 'Damn, I can't score on him AND he about to bust my ass." |

Can you also hound Allen Iverson into a near fight or hound TJ Ford into an absolutely ATROCIOUS game? If you also have that kind of foot speed, maybe you should try out. Oh yeah, can you also initiate the offense?
If so, then damn, it's unbelieveable how 29 teams in the League all missed out on your ability. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat.
