So is it safe to assume that this was a regional commercial only?
I cant find it and I live in L.A.
can anyonw who saw it please let me know what cable provider you use.
Rather than flame the producer of the video first, I would like to start with the programming director who allowed this filth on the air.
any info would help guys.. |

I live in Orange County and they aired it during halftime. I don't understand why they would agree to air it though because they promote Kobe and the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a real jacked up commercial kinda like a Resident Evil, OJ Simpsonish, dark commercial slash porn. |

What's your cable provider? Maybe it's a regional, cable-based commercial rather than a network commercial. |

I have Cox Communications in the OC and I don't remember seeing the commercial. I was also channel surfing, but it may be an isolated thing with Time Warner. |

Ummm...
This is America right?
The "true" story of Kobe Bryant?
1.) Naming rights
2.) Isn't slander still a crime? |

As an advertising minor at USC, we were taught this semester that cable TV networks are not as strict as other networks such as ABC, NBC, FOX. They don't really screen the commericals and if they get paid enough, they will put on anything. Assuming they don't say the f-word or show nudity, it will most likely get screened. The people at FoxSportsNet most likely did not go through the process of going to the website, assuming kobebryantmovie.com was just a kobe fan site.
I'm not saying that this is acceptable, but it just is how it is. The advertising screeners won't waste too much time on a commerical that is ran for 15 seconds and only once during the game. Fox should definetely hear about this, because it is unfair to Kobe and Lakers fans. _________________ Lakers in '08.

I don't know if slander is a crime, but it is something you can get sued for. Kobe should take this clown to court. |

I am sure he knows about it.
If not it would be a good thing to bring it to his attention. But as far as the LG members are concerned, it looks like from the responses that it was a regional tv spot.
Not that it matters but I produce TV commercials for a living, so I think I know a little about how this matter should be handled.
The first step is voicing concern to the Media Buyer at the outlets where the commercial originated from, so you guys down in O.C and S.D. need to get your Cable Providers contact info on here so we can all start bombarding them with our concerns that they would allow this filth on air.
I really hope lots of us follow through on this. It really pisses me off that some scumbag was able to get his crappy infomercial on during a game... |
