People keep talking about the fact that Kobe has played in 10 seasons and that he has more wear and tear than someone who came from college at the same age.
BUT, what many forget is that Kobe got very limited minutes his first year, and not much more the 2nd. He didn't even start getting major minutes till his third.
So I don't see a major difference between 15-20 mins in the pros as compared to 30+ in the NCAA. |

I really believe Kobe, Mitch, his trainers, Buss & co. know what theyre doing with the whole situation, and are gonna handle it accordingly. Im not worried at all about kobes wear and tear. |

What's the number NCAA games in a season...30-35 games?? Less than 1/2 an NBA season.
2 20 minute halfs. Guys aren't nearly as big or strong.
Pretty much all zone defense in college, very little man-to-man.
March Madness, 1 game sudden death match ups, NBA best of 5 and 7, multiple rounds.
College you play 2 games a week, maybe 3. No back-to-backs. Not nearly as much travel.
Kobe in the finals 4 outta 5 years. That's what, 400+ games just during the championship years. One championship year is 2 to 3 FULL college seasons.
Could go on and on with the differences. College seasons pale in comparison at every level. |

Kobe has at least the wear and tear of a 10 year veteran - period.
Most NBA players don't play 40 minutes a game in their first year, if ever in their career. Sure, most players have played in college, but Kobe also trains harder than any other player. I'm willing to bet that if you take the following statistics:
Lifetime Game minutes (college or NBA)
Lifetime Practice minutes
Kobe would be on the upper end, if not the top, of those two stats compared to other 10 year NBA Veterans. |

All that means is that it is time for Kobe to begin playing with his mind more than with his body. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Kobe will be fine. He trains himself as well as anybody on the planet so physically he will hold up. The only question is whether he will suffer burnout which I don't predict happens until he runs off 8 championships in a row. |
