|
|
You guys know that was a mistake don't you? Bell has 5 yrs under his belt, and plays Kobe pretty tough at times. This means that everybody else has to be more frustrated trying to abuse Bell.
I still remember when he was available. Did the Lakers make him an offer, or what? 6'5 210 and seasoned. Has a decent to good jumper, tailor made for the triangle. Was that an oversight, or was it just impossible to attain him? _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

Phoenix had a done deal with him as soon as FA struck. No one else, including the Jazz, had a shot. |

Exactly, it was basically pre-arranged. |

Also I think he was out of our spending range.
We were only offering 2-3 year deals and he got a 5 year deal at 25 millon or so. |

A lot of players that look good playing with Nash might not look so good in the P&G.
In fact, I think he's the first player in the history of the universe to put up better numbers after leaving the Jazz.[/i] |

I was mainly interested in Raja's defense. He's impressive... _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

Me too Shoes, plus his outside shot is a good one too.

Nice to see people (bleep) as usual. If anyone ever brought up any comparison between both players, it was to indicate that prior bad success was not an indicator of how the future will be. But no one ever claimed that Kwame was going to be a cutout of JO. If someone did, it was an isolated incident, and certainly not the sentiment of the board (at the time). _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam

The Suns just make good acquisitions. Bell, Jones, and Diaw have all excelled this year, especially Diaw, who has only been a downgrade from Joe Johnson in outside shooting. He's the guy I really wanted the Lakers to try to acquire last summer, but there was probably never any realistic deal they could have made for him. Personally, I wanted them to trade Odom for Diaw and a future pick, thinking the pick would likely be pretty high and they'd have ridiculous cap space when Grant came off. That was obviously never going to happen, since the team doesn't want to "officially" rebuild, and even I couldn't have guessed that Diaw would turn into Odom-lite, with more versatility and better defense, in only one season. |

Yeah, Bell and Adrian Griffin were two players who were available where it woulda been nice to get them for their D. Bell is like a younger Griffin with a J. |
