What is it about this quarter that always seems to mess this team up? Should Phil come with a diff lineup in the third, or maybe some quick timeouts in the third to keep the team on course. Im more inclined to go with the time outs but as we all know Phil likes to make them figure it out on their own. |

Oddly enough we had a great 3rd quarter against Detroit too.
Not sure what it is, maybe Phil needs to go all Vince Lombardi at the half |

I'd chalk this one up to a few different reasons.
1) We've got a young team. I know, seems like an excuse, but they really need to learn that the beginnings and endings of quarters are where the game is won and they need to bring the intensity then. To your point, yeah, Phil could call more time outs quickly in the 3rd to try to compensate for this.
2) Phil. He doesn't seem like a very strong X's and O's kinda guy. When opposing coaches (Poppovich is a great case in point) makes adjustments over half-time, we don't seem to have made similar adjustments. We've got to get better at this. |

that third qtr was terrible. kobe was in a terrible shooting slump and was forcing up shots. he wasnt even letting the offense run or anything. either way he came up strong in the 4th so im sure it'll be overlooked. but i dont care if he's trying to shoot himself out of a slump, he needs to let the offense run itself and let shots come to him. when kobe dominates the ball and forces shots, no one cuts because they dont expect to get the ball. when his teammates dont feel involved they end up flat footed on both ends of the court. energy is lost both offensively and defensively. his lazy rotations in his "safety" defense didnt help much. regardless kobe stepped up when he needed to. |
