^I wouldn't be laughing. Look over their career accomplishments. At least Hakeem had competition in Ewing and David Robinson. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

i personally still dont give a damn about shaq since the trade, but accomplisment aside, numbers etc. Shaq O'neal was un touchable during the 3 peat, no one , could touch him, then or in history, ill give him props for that, he was pure dominance as easy two point u can ever get. |

In one season? Sure. In prime? I think Olajuwon was sorely underrated. So is Kareem for that matter. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

First off, I don't get the worthy at power forward rating? He played SF when I watched the games. (Rambis/green were the PF). I would not put Worthy against Malone, etc.
Second, I can see an argument for putting Shaq over Wilt, but over Kareem? C'mon!
So,
1st team
PG- Magic
SG- KOBE
SF- Worthy/Elgin (tie)
PF- Malone
C- Kareem
2nd team
PG- LOGO
SG- Gail
SF- Worthy/elgin
PF- Mickkelsen
C- Wilt (Shaq 3rd)
ALL TIME (OUT OF POSITION ALLOWED)
PG- MAGIC
SG- JORDON
SF- BIRD
PF- HAKEEM
C- KAREEM |

Kareem, gets it for longevity, and not being a greedy bastard. But , ill give u shaq' two most dominant seasons were probably the first two title runs. I know hakeem has more range than shaq, but i think he was overshadowed , like most players during the 90 l, by M.J. His back 2 back championships, get that ," u know , he got it because m.j retired" type of reaction, but i would have loved too see hakeem and m.j square off, anyone thing they could of beaten the bulls? |

Nash has basically ripped away the best pg of the decade away from J.kidd , with these two spectacular years. Im sure a certain chris paul will have something too say about that, but he isnt near complete as nash, if he ever gets the shooting nash has , watch out. Yea its crazy he;s a rookie and we can talk about like that.. |

Anyway, what do you guys think? |

I can understand why someone would take Jordan at SG. Kobe may eventually outperform him, but Jordan has the lifetime achievements in the bank already. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. It's hard to argue about those lineups...You compare todays competition with yesterdays competition. You look at rule changes. The league was smaller, and talent may have been better due to less teams spreading out the "real dawgs" like todays NBA with it's cap controls. Remember West, Baylor, and Chamberlin didn't have to deal with Crawford, Javie, Bavetta, and Salvatore! _________________ "According to ESPN.com's conference projections, the Lakers will finish 12th in the West, which prompted Bryant to tweet earlier this offseason, "12th I see.." |

Regardless of how you would mix those players up (and I would've included Goodrich at the expense of Nixon)--first team or second team-- --look at that squad 1-10!!!
And that doesn't even include Wilt! Freaking nuts! |

I'm surprised more of you aren't supporting Kareem as the all-time best Laker center. Seriously - I'd take him over Shaq in any era. Besides he (like Olajuwon, who I also like better than Shaq) had real competition. I bet Cap would say to Shaq if this ever came up: "You try dragging Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes!"
Kobe vs West: getting closer all the time, but those of you who pick Kobe hands down don't know about West or his impact on the game. Hell, you're probably not even looking up his career stats. However, it's finally an equal discussion,, and I do expect Kobe to rise above him by career's end. |

No disprespect to West, but I'd put Kobe ahead of him simply because West never had the burden of having to carry the franchise by himself.
F - Baylor
F - Worthy
C - Kareem
G - Magic
G - Kobe
Mikkelson was way before my time, so I can't vote for him. Wilkes, OTOH, I remember very well. The HOF committee may disagree but, IMO, he was every bit as good in his prime as Worthy without the flash. I give Big Game the edge because he had a longer career with the team.
F - Wilkes
F - McMillan/Hairston
C - Shaq
G - West
G - Goodrich

IMO, Hakeem should be ahead of Shaq. Hakeem (prime) > Shaq (prime) |
hakeem over shaq in prime, excuse me while i again |
Actually, Hakeem was a more complete player than Shaq, and he absolutely deserves to be ranked ahead of Shaq. _________________ If you meet the Buddha in the lane, feed him the ball. ~Phil Jackson |

I agree completely with ProBasketball News' all-time Laker team. No if's or but's (like "but Kobe will be there in 5 years").
As for Kareem vs. the other great centers, he's always been underrated. He dominated from the get go when he gave the Bucks a title on his soph year. He won in HS, college and the pros. He dominated without being the biggest or strongest (ala Wilt) or being surrounded by HOF'ers 2 to 10 (ala Russell).
He scored on everybody, even though everybody knew how he was going to score.
He has as many rings as Jordan. Can be the top dog on his team, and also graciously giving way to a young leader when necessary. The only knock was his aloofness, but that's not even bball related. |

Yeah, I can understand that. The game has changed dramatically, and I do think Bryant now would whoop West at his peak, but for West's time, in a sense, he was Kobe Bryant. Narrow-minded, dogged work ethic, stubborn, clutch. |
Did not know West went there 9 times. 40 ppg in Finals + 27 ppg for his career = better than Kobe. My bad. |

Also he could gaurd both the 4 and the 3 spot.
