|
|
Quote: | Chicago's talks with the Los Angeles Lakers regarding Pau Gasol before the trade deadline never got too far, largely because the Lakers had no interest in taking back Carlos Boozer ... and because the Bulls weren't about to find a third team willing to join the talks to absorb the three years and $47 million remaining on Boozer's deal to help Chicago get the Spaniard.
File this away, though.
Sources with knowledge of Chicago's thinking told ESPN.com that Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf was prepared last week to go into the luxury tax if necessary if a legit trade scenario involving Gasol had materialized.
Which suggests that the Bulls, if they're that high on Pau, are bound to try to trade for him again. |

no matter what we get back apart from rose we end up becoming inferior short term.
deng and taj gibson still isn't good enough and no way they trade deng and noah for gasol _________________ Jerome James being asked what he thought about his coach calling him selfish, his response was:

Can we delay all the Trade Pau for XXX Trash talk until AFTER the season is over?
Noah is owed more money than Pau so I doubt the Lakers take on that contract.
I'm sure the Bulls are thinking Boozier + top 25 protected pick = Pau.
But talking about it now is rather silly. Pau ain't going anywhere for another couple months, if then. |

I'd trade Gasol for Thibodeau and either Deng or Boozer. Thibodeau is the best coach in the NBA in my opinion. Guy is too good. |

Gasol's value is diminishing by the game. everyone thought he's gonna turn it around after the trade dead line but still the same soft Gasol i believe if Chicago indeed makes a play for him it's their owner's call, there's no way Thebodeur(sp) wants this softy on his team. |

Really, is there anything not named Rose that the Lakers could be interested in?
I don't think so...

Sadly for Pau, once the summer begins all the trade talk forhim will startup again. The Lakers still want to move him for a younger and cheaper piece. I just hope they insist on getting a star caliber player in return. Actually I hope they keep KGB together. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. Non-starter. What team is going to surrender quality for the likes of Boozer? |

They might end up keeping Boozer and move Pau to Center. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

I don't see anyone available on Chicago who would be worth trading Pau for.
If we trade Pau then we need to get a stretch-4 in return. I think a big that can stretch the floor as well as get inside the paint is the perfect fit for Bynum. The funny thing is, Pau is becoming that guy. As long as Pau can keep draining that midrange shot and occasional corner 3, he's just what we need. The perfect fit would be Kevin Love but we know that's not going to happen. He just might be the best 4 in the league this year. |

I don't care I would take Noah, that would be an upgrade for the Lakers, as he HUSTLES, plus the Lakers would reduce the yearly payroll... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

I agree. Noah has a great motor, still young at age 27 and a great defensive minded player and rebounder. He would fit right in to Mike Brown's system. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

I do see the interest as Noah's been pretty uninspiring this season though his numbers are only slightly weaker. I'm still not sure they'd actually do it because of Pau's shelf life. We'll have to wait for recriminations if Chicago falls short. |

If Chicago gave up Noah, I doubt we'd keep him. It would likely be a leg in a three-way. I see us looking for a stretch 4 to compliment Bynum. |

Not in 2014/15 it doesn't. I don't see the Lakers taking on any longer term contracts except for a legit All Star (Bynum will get a max extension).
If you listened to Jimmy Buss radio interview, he kept talking about "flexibility" - that is code to cut salaries to below lux tax threshold. I think even the Lakers realize they can't do that as long as Kobe is eating up a huge portion of the cap. But they CAN do it in 2014/15. I don't see them trading for or adding any players that would eat up a lot of the 2014/15 salary caps unless it is a legit All Star (CP3). Noah would not be a target the Lakers are interested in. |

I like our team the way it is. If the Lakers can get one bench scorer who can put up 10 points a game at the very least, I would like to run with this team until 2014 and build after that with big time free agent. |
