The Lakers have been steadily inconsistent this year, but what do you expect from a ballclub whose coach feels its essential to tinker with lineup rotations even when things are going well? Its pretty tough to understand the lineups he put on the floor today. I understand the general philosophy of it, trusting your players, allowing their confidence to grow. This seemed to work with bringing Luke Walton back from the dead. Any other coach would have given Luke DNP's for the rest of the year, the way he had been playing. But, it's getting down to crunchtime -- make or break time -- and its getting pretty scary. Look at the way Kobe huffed and sulked on the bench in the 4th quarter. He was literally rolling his eyes at Phil. Head scratching rotation for sure.

On top of this, it doesn't help the general perception of the team that its packaging and presentation are just as sporadic and inconsistent. Ever since Chick Hearn left us, the team's radio and tv broadcasts have been hijacked and turned into rodeo shows. We never know who to expect with each game. Games are tape delayed more than they've ever been, even though Tivo's and DVRs are in a majority of households. Today's game was tape delayed 2 minutes, just for kicks. So remember when you were watching in suspense at the end of the fourth? You were just fooling yourself. It had already happened!

We need consistency all around. We LA fans deserve better. How can the Clippers get an HD broadcast and we are stuck with KCAL, which manages to bungle it everytime the game is in play, because they are still showing the replay!

Well I'm glad Luke is playing better. Didn't miss a field goal, offensive rebounds, etc. Sasha is also starting to make shots. If both of them continue their good streak, it will really help this team with the loss of Mihm.

Kobe has to sit down sometimes or he's going to wear out. Phil is trying to find some combinations that will work for us when Kobe needs to take a break.

Hopefully the loss of Mihm will be a blessing in disguise...by this I mean Kwame/ Bynum will get more minutes and have a chance to make more contributions. Phil needs to utilize the veteran presence of Jim Jackson to help guide the second unit so that Kobe can get an extended rest.

Better teammates = Better rest for Kobe. Until then, no rest for Kobe if we want to stay in contention.

During the game the people on this board were yelling that Kobe was the reason that we were losing. When Phil sits him because he is ruining any semblance of offensive flow they yell because he isn't playing. Kobe looked gassed to me, he was angry, tired, and working against his own teammates at times. When he is on the bench it is an opportunity for LO to lead the team and make his own mark.

Kobe was definetly working against the flow. He has been shooting poorly for the last week and a half. His legs look tired. He also looks very frustrated with the refs. He spent a lot of energy woofing at the refs in this game.

That said, we really didn't lose by much and wasted great efforts by Luke and Smush.
