Howard willing to re-sign with Lakers if traded to L.A.

Consider this the first step in building a Dwight Howard trade that doesn't involve Brookyn. It lays the foundation.

RealGM.com's Jarrod Rudolph, known to be very close to Howard and his camp and is considered a reliable source on that end, reports that Howard has come around to the Los Angeles Lakers as a destination and is willing to re-sign with the Lakers in free agency in the summer of 2013.

Lakers add Antawn Jamison

LOS ANGELES -- Antawn Jamison is joining up with Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash to chase a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jamison will sign a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum with the Lakers, a league source told ESPNLosAngeles.com's Dave McMenamin.

Heat, Lakers, Clippers, Nets the big offseason winners so far

Los Angeles Lakers — Does a nearly 40-year-old point guard make a big difference to an already ancient team? Yes, if that guard is Steve Nash, who'll immediately earn the trust of Kobe Bryant and likely get the most out of bigs Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.

Both were severely underutilized during the playoffs against Oklahoma City and seeing Nash play wizard with the ball will be a welcome sight. It also cuts down on the wear and tear on Bryant.

If they acquire a healthy Dwight Howard, you can book the Lakers for the Finals.

Howard Ready To Move On To L.A.?

Throughout the Dwightmare, the one constant was that Dwight Howard loved Brooklyn most of all. The lure of Los Angeles, we were told, did nothing for him. He didn't want to follow Shaq's example, didn't get along with Kobe. So many of the Nets moves were based on that. Now, that seems to have changed.

Jarrad Rudolph of RealGM and Chris Broussard both report overnight Thursday that Howard has relented and is now willing to be traded to the Lakers and re-sign a long term contract with them.

But lost in all of this is Orlando's lack of enthusiasm for Andrew Bynum. Josh Robbins on Wednesday again reported that Rob Hennigan and Co. "have limited interest" in acquiring Bynum, "concerned about Bynum's knees." Bynum would also have to agree to re-sign with the (rebuilding) Magic. Whatever. The Nets are still very much interested in Howard and have planned accordingly. But know this: unlike last season, it's not their top priority.

Not as much as the Nash move, because Nash was the bigger game changer (although Howard is the better player and longterm piece).

But I will be if it actually happens. Remember we were front runners for Paul last year as well once NY Knicks couldn't trade for Paul and Paul nixed a trade to Boston.

Always felt we'd end up in the lead and Dwight would come to his sense once the Nets option was killed. But it needed to be killed first. Which it was recently.

There's still a process left and it could drag. If this happens, I'm super excited.

That was a stupid list of pros and cons if you ask me... Him going to playboy impacted him on court how? Sure Bynum annoys people with his kiddie attitude sometimes but no more so than other stars..(not a Bynum fan, but the list was stupid)

Hmmm... Interesting news! Orlando and Cleveland posturing like crazy now that Dwight's gaining a little common sense.

Thanks Wolf

Really tho... you would think we would be excited by the better, more brighter future in D12 but this whole process has made most Laker's fans numb to what was going down...... He played with our emotions so much so that if someone came into my cube right now and said D12 is going to the Lakers, he's signing tomorrow; I would pretty much not react at all and just say great, let's hope Mike Brown can do his job an coach!!!

consider this a great "progress." am sure there has been a "you don't say" news from Cleveland and Bynum.

Hey Chan, yeah I read that in the gigantic FA thread.

I'll post your link in the News format so other can sneak a peak if they would like.

Quote:
Andrew Bynum's agent says no teams have contacted him about trades
Dwight Howard may have verbally consented to becoming a Laker for years to come, but there’s still no telling whether Andrew Bynum would be willing to do his part to make a blockbuster trade involving the All-Star centers happen.

Bynum’s agent, David Lee, said Thursday afternoon that his client has not told him whether he would be willing to sign a contract extension with another team besides the Lakers, a move that is widely considered a precursor to any trade involving Howard and the Lakers.

Hmm, Bynum's nonchalant "there's a bank in every state" might come back to bite him in the a**. He prolly never thought they would try to trade him after his breakout season.. hmmmm

Yeah I have to agree.

Maybe this doesnt go over as well with Cavs fans there as in LA? Just speculating. Though it seems pretty illogical. Just a hunch, but at least one of their current roster would go to the playboy mansion if they got the chance. Either that, or maybe that's a midwestern humor thing .

I looked at their roster, what do they have besides Kyrie? Weird that they wouldnt want another star, a big man at that, especially since their 2nd leading scorer came to us.

Bryant: "Quiero a Gasol a mi lado la próxima temporada"

Quote:

Lakers agree to two-year, $8 million deal for Jordan Hill
By Matt Moore | Senior NBA and Olympics Blogger

Jordan Hill was considered a throw-away in the deal to send Derek Fisher to the Rockets for a little financial breathing room and to make way for Ramon Sessions to join the Lakers. He wound up being one of the best bench bigs the Lakers had, actually giving both quality minutes and quality effort. But if you had said after the season that Hill would be a Laker in 2013 and Sessions would not, you'd have been called... well, maybe not crazy, but definitely pretty far out there.

And now you'd be called right.

Ken Berger of CBSSports.com confirms a Yahoo Sports reports that Hill has signed a two-year, $8 million deal to return to the Lakers.
