CDR can create his own shot reliably, unlike Blake, Ebanks, and Meeks.

He's really unorthodox with his style of play and seems to get a lot of garbage points like Antawn Jamison. A majority of his shots are 15' and in; slashing or off-the-ball.

Not quite. CDR can create off the dribble and has a decent mid-range game.

Barnes is bigger, has a better 3 point shot, and is a better defender.

I wouldn't have minded re-signing Barnes, but CDR offers us offense off the bench at the SF spot which Ebanks has not proved capable of doing.

Yes, if Morrison was able to cross you over, then dunk on your face.

Anyone who did Fantasy Basketball last year knew of CDR and was tempted to take him off the waivers.

After reading some of these posts, CDR might just have taken this season's most overrated label away from Ebanks.

he's cj miles with less defense, less of a 3 ball, but possibly better offensive moves inside 15feet going to the basket.

Kind of reminds me of Cedric Ceballos.

Impressions:

- "Nice" athlete who can slash.

- Not much of a shooter, long range shooter.

- Fast Breaks and Iso player heavy.

- A black hole on offense though since he's not known for passing the ball back out once he's got it.

He's a rotational player on a lottery team, meaning he'd probably just be bench warmer on a championship team. Best possible scenario for him is that, he sort of feels like he might be last year's version of what happened to Gerald Green.

It's hard to find a comparison for CDR, but the closest I could think of would be John Salmons.

From our own Emplay:

CDR just hasn’t stuck.

He’s a talented player who can defend and play.

Whatever it is – he just hasn’t fit into the NBA culture it seems – as teams haven’t really kept him around long.

Just based on the Lakers contracts, it’s hard for him to make this roster but if he outplays some of the other bubble players and has his head on straight, perhaps something unexpected happens.

Sounds VERY much like a Gerald Green type of personality.

Ya know, he might have a shot as a 3rd SF, lets see how he does.

As long as CDR's quick and can get out and run and cut to the hope, Nash will make him useful enough for our needs. Good, under the radar signing by MK even though Barbosa would have been a sexier move by many here.

I think Ebanks is too raw and unproven to be 1st backup SF on a championship team and its not like he has much potential to begin with. This is even more so the case with MWP as starter who can easily get in foul trouble, suspended, or just needs to get benched because hes in a stretch of horrid shooting and/or lack of focus. CDR wouldnt be my first choice but he is a viable option to help shore up our SFs and possibly uproot Ebanks as primary backup

According to our own Emplay...

He believes CDR won't even make the cut.

Assuming the Lakers do sign 2 more players, he's going with Odom-Johnson and Robert Sacre.

CDR looked like he was going to be a pretty decent player when he first came into the league.

Perhaps. But as someone mentioned, the Gerald Green parallels are spot on. Green was seen as a talented player who was a malcontent on the court, uncoachable, etc. The kid then went on exile, playing in Russia, etc. He then comes back with a better attitude, improved BBALLIQ.

Same with CDR. He played overseas last year after being a starter in the league with the Nets. I hope that he's improved like Green did. If so, then he's got a good chance to make the squad over Sacre TBH. CDR is not a chump; he just had a chump's mentality.

No. I've tried to think of a legit player comparison, but he is very much his own player. Even DraftEx thought he'd be the next Stackhouse as an upside and he's nothing like that.

He's a faceup PF with ball-handling skills. He shoots a lot of floaters in the painted area, uses a spin moves within 15' to create lateral separation, has a change of direction off the dribble, a semi-respectable jumpshot out to 20'.

Now that I think about it a bit more, he's the old school Bonzi Wells.

Bonzi was a lot stronger and developed a more consistent jumpshot, and that allowed him some room to drive and shed defenders getting into the paint.

His shot selectioin is putrid...but he can get hot ..would prefer to take him over a stiff like Sacre fersur. Those of u knocking Ebanks..go back and watch that game where he got significant minutes vs OKC where we won in doubleOT...he played awsome man defense on Durant

I kinda wonder how many people in this thread have actually watched CDR play on a regular basis as opposed to building a faux scouting report based on youtube clips and draftexpress

with that said his game reminds me of Jamison's

outside of a select few .. I would say the majority lol. That's what some people do here. Although, sometimes that's all there is to go by.

also.. cmorton I see where you're comin' from - but it was literally like, one game lol. At least that's the common response here. Personally, I love Ebanks. I think he's capable of alot more than what he's shown.. I remember the beginning of the season (might've been pre-season) they were actually running plays with him coming off a curl for a mid-range jumper that was almost automatic.

It's kind of hard to show what you have when almost nothing is drawn up for you in an offense that was basically dump it into Bynum .. if nothing - kick it to Kobe where he bails you out.
