With Philly's loss today, Indiana, Milwaukee and washington each might have clinched a spot in the playoffs.
Does anyone know offhand if any of them did? _________________ BORN REBLE |

How about the Bucks and Wizards? _________________ BORN REBLE |

Looks like orlando only gets in if they win from here on out and the Bulls lose the rest of their games. _________________ BORN REBLE |

I think the Wizards and Philly split their season series, but Washington has a better conference record. So does that mean they clinched?
And the Bucks won the season series with Philly, so they must have clinched.
That means all thats left in the east is to see if Chicago, Philly or Orlando grabs the #8 seed, and how the Pacers, Wizards and Bucks end up in 5-7. _________________ BORN REBLE |

Orlando is playing great basketball and might even give the Pistons a 1st round scare ... but they've been eliminated. Even in the best case scenario where they win out and the Bulls lose out, the Magic would lose the tiebreaker (which is conference record in this case) ... by only a single game. Next year these guys are gonna be very tough, though. |

thanks.
As for the Q about who made it yesterday, I still haven't heard any official news of Milwaukee or Washington.
I've just gotten used to following little details like this during this part of the year. No biggie. Just hoped someone else was more on top of this kind of thing. _________________ BORN REBLE |

It was said that Indy/Milwaukee both clinched last night BUT Washington somehow didn't yet despite having 1 less loss than both Indy/Mil.
Only Philly can catch Washington out of the teams that's not currently in. They split the season series but Wash. has the better conference record. So there must has to be some 3 or 4 team tiebreaker scenario that would knock out Washington.
According to NBA.com, the Magic are still alive in the race for 8th. If ORL/CHI ended the season at 38-44, the season series would be tied at 2-2 but the Bulls would have a better conf. record by a game. So PHI/ORL/CHI might all have to end the season at 38-44 for ORL to sneak in.
I need to check the 3 team tiebreakers scenario.
BRA Edit:
3 Team Tiebreaker:
(2) Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams.
CHI vs. ORL vs. PHI
ORL: (5-3) (3-1 vs. PHI)
CHI: (4-4) (2-2 against both teams)
PHI: (3-5) (1-3 vs. ORL)
That would be ORL's only ticket in.
I won't even check Washington because I have no doubts they're getting in.
Outside of Detroit, the East is a trash Conference as a whole. |

Awesome research, BigRedApple13! I didn't even think of that case.
But Chicago won today, so Orlando and Philly are out now. Too bad ... that would have been exciting to see Orlando make it. |

They sure did. Though they've been playing without Hill for a while now, and Franchise's departure had to have been one of the bigger reasons they player better. _________________ BORN REBLE |
