Now Im no Knick fan, but I was looking at thier roster and they have potential to be a good team in 1-2 years. I think Isaih might know what he is doing, and Larry is creating a New York version of the Pistons.

Without trades the predicted 06-07 lineup:

Marbury/ Robinson
Francis/ Crawford
Richardson/ Rose
Frye/ Lee
Curry/ Jerome James

I think Isiah has one more trades to make(as always), and that is for a SF. I think he will try to get Artest, Dunleavy, Harrington, Peja in a S&T for any non-starting assets. Crawford IMO is gone.

The 06-07 Knicks could look like:

Marbury/ Robinson
Francis
Harrington/ Lee
Frye/
Curry/ Jerome James

This team could be really scary with developed chemistry and Larry Brown defensive schemes. What team in the east has the talent to match that starting lineup? The Knicks win 40 at the least next year IMO.

The Knicks are not like the Pistons on defense. There's no defensive anchor or elite defensive player on that entire roster.

They have a ton of talented guards - but NONE of them are true point guards who can set up an offense.

The FIRST thing they need to do is get a true point guard. I don't care if it's Luke Ridnour - but they need someone like that who is going to average just as many assists as he does shots on nights.

After that, they need a shotblocker inside. Neither Curry nor Frye can anchor the defense consistently.

So to sum it up - True PG + Shotblocker + Disposing of (Marbury+Francis) = Playoff team in the east.

That's the crack talking.

Yeah, they've got talent, but it's all overrated. They had talent all this year and look what it got them. I completely agree with what Wolfpac just said - there's not a defender or a true PG among them. Plus most of their players have got sizeable selfish streaks in them when it comes to offense.

Combine that with Larry's monster ego, all the horrible contracts, and no draft choices the next few years, and this is just a mess that will take more than a few years to fix.

I mean I know the Knicks franchise sucks, but Larry Brown is a good coach and will not put out a 25 win team next year. I can see Isiah pullng a Marbury for Miller/Evans right now.

Andre Miller
Francis
Richardson
Frye/
Evans/Curry

The Knicks are in cap hell, but have a lot of talent to make things work. A Marbury for Evans/Miller or a Marbury for Harrington+fillers in S&T. The Knicks will be a solid team by 2008 with 3 years of Larry Brown.

You dont think Larry Brown can make the playoffs after 3 seasons?

How much you want to bet Larry Brown won't be around after 3 seasons? You keep saying they just need to trade this that for some players. The problem is, no one in the league is stupid enough to take the overpaid crap from the Knicks. Cancers like Francis and Marbury who are way overpaid don't draw much interest around the league. Teams are willing to do sign and trade provided you offer expiring contracts, high picks, and young players. A bunch of shoot first, selfish, close to 30 PG making over 10 mil per year is not going to get you jack.

And I'm pretty sure the Knicks (Isiah) have no idea what they are doing. Most of their trades make no sense at all except in the negative sense.

Hmmm, Larry Brown is the coach. Philly is done with Iverson. New York needs a true point guard. AI as a Knick anyone? jk

Nobody is touching Starbury with his contract. I think he is set to get around 60 mil over the next 3 years.

What if they paint him white? I'm sure that fool Ainge would give his mother and wife along with crap load of money for Starbury - if only Stephon was white.

Minny might be desperate enough for Marbury, though his comments on Quite Frankly about the city of Minn. might hurt that quite a bit.

Larry has had 3 big melt downs recently:

1) Ugly departure from Detroit
2) Olympic fiasco
3) The current knicks

Yet his ego is still as big as ever and he refuses to communicate with his players. He has too many nasty contracts with overrated talent on his team with no hope in the draft. If they do everything right from now on, the Knicks might make the playoffs in 3 years - but it'll take them that long to dig themselves out and it won't be thanks to Larry.

2006-'07 $17,275,781 2007-'08 $19,195,313 2008-'09 $21,114,844, nope, nobody's gonna want any part of that.

i suppose.

first thing they need is a franchise player (not stevie franchise). AI is at the tail end of his career. the knicks need to literally get rid of EVERYONE and rebuild.
