The San Diego Clippers furious comeback bid falls short, losing to the hometown Utah Stars 99-95. Down 11 with just over 2 minutes to go, the Clippers went on a 8-1 run down the stretch but ran out of time. Questionable clock management had many of the scattered Clippers fans in the crowd wondering why they weren't fouling to preserve time. LeBron James led the Stars with 34 points en route to being named Player of the Game.

The Hoosiers took a 4 point lead into the half, but lost the lead halfway through the 3rd quarter, and the Alpacas never looked back. Andre Miller's last minute heroics lift the visiting Hickory Hoosiers to a thrilling 94-93 win over the Memphis Blues. Miller's jumper with 28 seconds to go gave the Hoosiers a 92-91 lead before Bob Dandridge's jumper with 8 seconds left countered the score. With just seconds left, Miller took the inbounds pass the length of the court, settled on a pull-up jumper and sank it as time expired. While Miller was the hero for Hickory, Wilt Chamberlain was the man for Memphis, scoring 21 points, grabbing 17 boards and swatting away an impressive 7 shots to earn Player of the Game honors in the loss.

Elgin Baylor scored 16 of his game-high 36 points in the 4th quarter to lead the hometown New Orleans Brass to a 109-102 victory over the Portland Pale Alers. The Pale Alers brought it to within one on a Karl Malone jumper with 48 seconds to go, but Baylor's free throw line shot with 34 seconds left rang true, giving the Brass a 3-point lead. The Pale Alers went cold the rest of the way. Baylor's 36 points and 11 boards were enough to garner Player of the Game honors.

The Boston Strong play a well-balanced and mistake-free game on the road to best the Houston Rockets. Six players score double figures for the Strong whose team only amassed six turnovers for the entire game. Wilkins led the strong with 26 points, but it was Kobe's line of 21-8-7 that earned him player of the game. The Rockets had three players with 18 point double doubles in Mourning, Barkley, and Haywood respectively, but it was the turnover differential that proved to be the deciding factor in this one.

Boston Strong - 123
Houston Rockets - 103

Larry Legend leads the visiting Chicago Bull-Crap to a victory against Lebron James and the Utah Stars. Bird finished with 36-6-7 earning player of the game. James had a nice stat line of his own, but the onslaught of Chicago's offense was too much to overcome.
