It's been 20-something years since he's been with LA. He is NO LONGER a Laker coach. Quit giving this guy (free) passes.

Flip Saunders notioned in his press conference that Rasheed isn't the key to the series. I don't know who do root for, Riley or Saunders. I guess I will pass on this series. I hope the Heats lose, but I don't think they will, as evidence tonight -- had all of the calls, and couldn't stop a single Heat player. I hope the Pistons wake up ... It would SUCK, absolutely SUCK, if the Heat made the NBA finals. I hope to GOD they get knocked out.

Its really pathetic of me to have this image in my head:

Wade on the floor: "Whhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyy,,, WhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhYyyyyyyyyyyyy....."

All the while everyone else was playing around him and totally forgetting he's on the floor....

Putting that aside I'm amazed nobody in Detroit thought of starting another brawl to get the Heat players suspended...

Pat oily never won anything with the Lakers. Magic, Kareem and James did. Pat just went along for the ride.

I think you mean "ever" because he did go to the Finals with the Knicks but lost both times.

Pat Riley contributions to this organization were very important. His coaching during the 1980s helped this organization because one of the more popular ones during that time.

If you are a true Laker fan, you will recognize it.

Nope. He lost one time with the Knicks (1994). In 1999 Stan Van Gundy was the Knicks headcoach.

You mean just like Phil going along for the ride on his way to 9 titles right?

You're right, I've typed the wrong surname. But I meant the tiny one with little hair on his head.

He made the Knicks something to be proud while he as there.
The Heat were ZERO before he came.

He is old now, but was figure in this game.

What I never liked from him is that he never palyed rookies, so his teams always died of age.

And he always trusted the starters even if they played like (bleep) (see Starks in 84 finals game 7 )

1994 Finals... which was more memorable for that infamous car chase of OJ Simpson which cut into the Finals coverage...

He coached the Lakers to back-to-back titles in 87 and 88. In the 88 celebrations he promised the fans a second straight title, that only a very disputable foul call on Rodman, in the last minute, made the Lakers win game 7 again the Pistons. Riley as about to promise the "threepeat" but Kareem made him shut up, wisely since the Pistons won the next 2. The "threepeat" is btw, registered and he never got the feel of it. The Bulls would get it two times, mostly at his expense.

Surname refers to the last name, which you got right. Sorry - I couldn't resist the opportunity to add another correction to this thread. Is this a record?
