Joel Guzman was also called up as Jeff Kent was sent to the DL and Izturis is also playing 2nd base today in AAA.

The stadium will explode when the gate opens up and "Welcome to the Jungle" starts. Funny thing is, who remembers when he was Eric "Going, Going" Gagne, a starter who was good about once through the lineup, then would get lit up with regularity and booed off the field? Talk about finding your niche. Once he added the off-speed pitch, and the 'bugs bunny' curve, it was lights out.

those were some sick breaking balls Gagne threw today to strikeout Delgado and Wright. I just hope now that he can keep his fastball above 91mph. He seemed to be hitting 89 every other fastball he threw.

your right, he has to keep that fastball above 91 to make his changeup as effetive as it is.

It's a good time to be a Dodger fan with the way the young guys are playing this year, Nomar being in MVP form and Gagne back. Can't wait for Kent to come back and be in his usual form. With Pujols out for extended time the NL is up for grabs this year.

He was, but with the off-speed stuff he was throwing, the fastball doesn't have to be in the mid 90s. It'd be nice, for sure, but not entirely necessary. He threw Delgado, what 4 straight breaking balls (and one that buckled Delgado), then threw the heat right past him. That first pitch, breaking ball strike to Wright was just ridiculous. As long as he's up and down in the zone, and wide and both sides (the pitch he struck Wright out with), as well as having a 25 MPH difference on speeds, he can get away with not having everything back on his fastball. The off-speed stuff right now is as good as I have seen anyone throw.

We're lucky to be able to see a guy like him throw all the time.

He actually struck wright out twice. That umpire was garbage tonight, he missed alot of strikes. His off speed stuff was great he threw one pitch at 59 MPH

I'm sure most of you already know, but things could get really, really interesting here with the latest news about Jason Grimsley.

PHOENIX — Pitcher Jason Grimsley was released by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, a day after federal agents searched his home as part of an investigation into steroid use by athletes.

He apparently named names in his interviews with 'authorities', and named a lot of players as well. The names were blacked out on the transcripts, but there were a lot of current players on it. He's also invested a lot of money into a pharmaceutical distributor (according to Keith Olberman), a company run by Grimsley's brother-in-law. Dan Patrick said the documents suggest that Grimsley said the 'Latin players' were a common hook-up for the drugs.

I'm sure many of Grimsley's current/former teammates are thrilled to hear this news.

This is HUGE!
HGH has probably been used more than steroids since 2000.
This is probably the best news Barry Bonds could ever see (even though he probably used them as well). He isnt going to be the only one getting criticised. I wonder how many names will get leaked out?
