But maybe this year will finally be the year. |
I guess 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007 didn't happen. This sounds like a comment about a team like The Atlanta Braves or 90's Buffalo Bills. |
Look at it as if you had a baby when the Spurs won their last title, they would be going to school now. It looks like this will be the Clippers year (if they stay healthy). |
That would be like saying the Lakers had a history of falling short after the 2008 Finals because you'd have a six year old if you had a child in 2002. In other words, it's silly. And there's nothing that says this is the Clippers year right now. Not with the Spurs riding high with a 19 game win streak with an average of 17.points margin of victory and the highest point differential in the league. |

The only way the team goes bad is when Timmy retires.
Until then, the Lakers could learn a thing or two about ways of preserving a core of old players and mixing youth the next time the Lakers are championship contenders.
Bye. |
I don't get the hate against the Spurs way of doing business. They have a tiny market. It's not like free agents are flocking to San Antonio. They draft wisely (Kahwai Leonard the last great pick). They scout well internationally. They keep their payroll reasonable. Their old HOF star takes a voluntary paycut. The players are loyal to Pop. It's a great system. |
Easily the best organization in the league at the moment. Arguably, the best of the decade. _________________ "I don’t give a [expletive] what you say. There isn't a better time to do it either. Spurs are in total domination mode unlike last year just prior to the playoffs w/ the Lakers. Just one little prediction... |
Spurs probably fall to OKC tonight and then flame out in 2nd round - hoping for a reverse jinx. |

Saying that you're reverse jinxing it actually negates the reverse jinx and maintains the initial jinx. _________________ "The best there is. The best there was. The best there ever will be.", said Bret Hart regarding the Los Angeles Lakers. |

Until you did that. Which I just undid... _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

The Spurs are a world class organisation no doubt. But I do find it a little disappointing that they haven't won a ring since '07, despite a plethora of RS success. Like someone before me stated, they should be working on b2b titles right now, and that's disappointing. Quietly and humbly, they've put together a string of post-season flameouts year in and year out. Maybe that changes this year, who knows. |
