Chris Bosh guarding Jason Collins would be something to see lol

but seriously... I think Collins just misinterpreted the phrase..."you need to man up..." or "are you man enough to be in the NBA..." _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Oh get over it Jason. Nobody said anything when you used your sexuality as an attempt to get another NBA contract by going public with it when nobody asked you or even cares!!!
His coming out held him back from getting a contact.

of course his career averages of basically, well, nothing, has nothing to do with it... it's because he is gay that's held back his career. Not really. Anyone putting themselves in the spotlight would result in the same (see Tebow). It's a distraction to the team and teammates. Maybe a manageable one, but something that draws your attention away from basketball.
I wonder if we'll hear about other players being insulted about other things?

The Nets seem to be doing well with this supposed distraction on their roster.

It didn't seem to hurt Aaron Rodgers contract negotiations.

Why should it have? He denied the rumor on his weekly radio show.
Jason didn't do it for a contract, he did it to be able to be himself. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I think Jason should just move on and let it slide ... _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

Collins should of just let it go..... instead he brings attention to the incident. Distractions are the last thing the Nets need. _________________ .....

To those of you calling out Collins and saying he should just "man up and let it go", it's not like he held a press conference about it to announce that someone called him a gay slur. He was probably just answering a question from a reporter, something to the tune of "has anyone taunted you about your sexuality on the court", and he answered it honestly.

Yeah - hence the reason I said his coming out held him back from getting a contract. You said "not really" and then proceeded to agree with me.

Uh, he's had those averages his whole career - hence the term "career averages" - and yet he never had trouble landing on a roster until this year.
In any case, the idea that he used his sexuality to help him get a contract is not only flat-out wrong, it demonstrates a complete and total lack of critical thinking.
