Geez... the West is so tough. After one round at least 2 legitimate cup contenders will be gone. Meanwhile in the East no one cares since there's maybe 2 real contenders. And of course we'll hear too much East Coast bias with NBC and NBC Sports.

The level of ball tickling for Boston will too much to bare.

We all know Bergeron is winning the Selke, regardless of how much of an ABSOLUTE BEAST Kopitar is on both sides of the puck. Give me the 6'3 240 lb. monster who can shut down any player in the league and dominate the faceoff dot. I'll take him over Bergeron any day of the week.

The Metro division is a joke. It's just Pittsburgh and filler teams. Buck Foston.

Gametime in less than 2 hours!

(bleep) I can't wait, it's going to be awesome. Nothing better than playoff hockey.

With that said, let's get this first win on the road and put them on their heels immediately. No (bleep) around in the Shark Tank, let's get the job done.

The last minute of the first period was the worst minute of hockey I have seen the Kings play in a long long time.

That was just (bleep) terrible.

Why can't we carry the puck into the zone and get decent shots?

We're asking Quick to do everything. Two terrible two on ones where Quick didn't stand a chance.

The end of this period gave me flashbacks to the '11 playoffs when we blew that 4 goal lead.

Never seen so many 2-on-1's in one (bleep) period. Atrocious D, which is stunning considering we were the best defensive team in the league.

Hope we come to play in game 2.

Nice to see they have some fight in them. It's a little too late though.

The game tonight is huge, I wouldn't go so far as to say it is a must win but certainly it is going to be a tall task to win 4 out of 5 vs The Sharks so it would be good to get tonight's game.

That said, I didn't like the way Quick looked in Game 1. Even though the defense in front of him was surprisingly bad, he didn't look locked in to me at all.

Would you even consider starting Martin Jones tonight if you were Sutter?

Not at all. IMO you have to ride your best player in the postseason. Iat may be stubborn but if they're really that great(as Quick has shown he can be) they usually wont let you down.

I do agree that today is as close to a must win game as there is but if we lose and come home and win 2, I'll forget all about the 0-2 deficit and be pumped that the series is tied and we have all the momentum. Sports fandom is a funny thing. So reactionary but that's what makes it so damn fun.

They did come from 0-2 down to beat St. Louis last year, but I would just as soon not have to go that route again!

I am sure they will start Quick, but I thought Jones looked solid in that 3rd period but maybe it was just the team playing better in front of him.

Needless to say, they are going to need a huge game from Quick because San Jose was really flying around in Game 1, I have to say I was impressed with their play.

Looking great so far. Like night and day from game 1 to game 2. SJ is still getting good opportunities but Quick is holdin it down.

The Kings can only go as far as Quick can take them... which isn't very far it looks like.

If you're giving up 6 goals a game, you deserve to lose.

So disappointing. After that first period I was so excited. What the hell happened to them? Pathetic.

Quick has been horrible in this series. But I would agree that the defense in front of him has been atypically bad also.

But honestly, I would start Jones in Game 3 if I am Sutter, Quick is looking bad.

Jonathan Quick has resorted to the guy from before the Stanley Cup run. He's been out of position way too many times. The Sharks just seem to want it more right now. The LA big guns have done absolutely nothing so far. Obviously game 3 is a must win and they need to steal back the momentum. Giving up 13 goals in the playoffs? To the Sharks?! Granted, they have a lot of scoring talent, but not that good.

Out hit. Out skated. Out worked. Out shot. Absolutely brutal 2nd and 3rd periods tonight. Where is the vaunted defensive team built for playoff hockey?

Definitely need to take momentum back in Game 3.

First my ex gets engaged now her favorite hockey team is trouncing mine.

I'm seeing deja vu over Quick's performance in the Olympics. Slow is giving up his usual Quickies and the D is getting run over by a hungrier team.

This series is crazy, such skill and pace by the Sharks. Kings stars need to start showing up
