As I posted the other day, Steve Perry from Journey's return to the stage after almost 20 years. Losing his wife about a year and a half ago and being pretty much a recluse for the past 20 years.

I was never a giant Journey fan but know Steve Perry is about as unique as a vocalist that rock and roll has ever seen.

Watch the introduction by the Eels lead singer, then how they tell him to get on stage, followed by his emotional version of "It's a Motherf***r" a Eels song that has to do with loss, with death. I think its a WOW moment.

Note: I didn't have tears but it certain sent those types of emotions through my body for sure.....not many singers can do that. And after 20 years of not performing and at the age of 65, I think he nails it.

Never been much of a cryer but these songs always put me on the brink...

Soul Sanctuary by Prince

Let It Be and A Day in the Life by The Beatles

Don't Follow by Alice in Chains

Angel by Jimi Hendrix

I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever) by Stevie Wonder

and maybe some others...

There have been so many, but I'll restrict it to these few classical pieces that I often listen to.

Dmitri Shostakovich - Symphony no. 5 - Largo

WA Mozart - String Quintet K.516 - Adagio ma non Troppo

Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky - Symphony no. 6 "Pathetique" - Adagio Lamentoso

Johannes Brahms - Symphony no. 3 - Poco Allegretto

Jean Sibelius - Symphony 7 - This is probably my favorite piece of music of all time. It isn't entirely sad, but it has sad sections, mixed with very upbeat sections. To me, no other piece of music describes life itself so accurately and it's written in the simplest of all keys, C major. There's a moment in this symphony that just moves me every time. In this particular recording, it comes around 5:25.

"So, I prefer to lie in darkest silence alone ... listening to the lack of light, or sound, or someone to talk to, for something to share ...- but there is no hope and no-one is there. No, no, no ...- not one living soul and there is nothing (left) to say, in darkness I lie all alone by myself, sleeping most of the time to endure the pain."

Changes by 2Pac got me emotional as a youngster. 'Pac was my hero, that song to me is like a memorial song.

Boyz II Men & Mariah Carey's "One Sweet Day" upsets me too, it was played at my best friend's funeral so it holds a special place in my heart.

Same deal with Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You", which was my mother's favorite song.

I've lost a fair few people along the way, and there are songs that remind me of them, but I'd say the one that gets me for no reason was "Unconditional Love" by 2Pac, I just think it's a deep song.

Tupac was a mediocre rapper. Yet he was the G.O.A.T. That's just the way it is.

I'm curious if CI is a woman.

Er...just coincidence, right?

With Kobe out they had to do something for the ratings.

Agreed. Tupac's greatness was more about his vision and soul than technical skills.

The other day my wife asked me if I ever heard Maxwell's song "Ascension." Then she said it was a song that expresses how she feels about me. Sooo yeah. That one.
