I hope nobody spent too much time on this 'research'. Let's see, we live in California, there are earthquakes here... yeah, I think that's a pretty safe prediction.

In other news, tests prove a hurricane will hit Florida. And it's going to be big. Also, scientists have calculated that it will likely get very, very hot in Phoenix this summer.

Uh, I read this same article every year, written by a different author. Eventually one of them will be right and he'll say I told you so.

The headline is sensational, the danger real, but the actual window is...

Who knows. It could be another 50 years, if you believe in the cycle:

Quote:
He said this lack of movement for 250 years correlated with the predicted gaps between major earthquakes at the southern end of the fault of between 200 and 300 years.

Just read about the so-called super volcanoes. One's located under Yellowstone. We're already on borrowed time and when it erupts, most of the US becomes inhabitable. The globe altogether will be screwed.

Thinkin' of these things would be stupid. You should be ready to face it mentally, but you shouldn't give too many thoughts on it. If you would, suicide would be rather tempting.

A news report said a big quake was overdue. Nature has been holding back 300 years according to the report. Of course the North Koreans can make an artificial one happen too.

Borrowed time? I suppose the immediacy of a possible disaster might help us to make better use of the precious time we have. The unexpected is possible at anytime.
