Who are you guys looking most forward to? I think we will get a top 4 pick with this lineup.

Don't the Suns have our pick, or is it lottery protected?

YESS!! I LOVE THIS THREAD. hopefully i dont hate it by us getting the 8th pick or something. god that'd suck.

Karl Towns is my #1 prospect.
also like Myles Turner.
3 great Centers in this draft. Towns, Okafor, Turner(maybe a Pf)7'0 tho

I'm an Arkansas fan, so I'll be watching Bobby Portis a lot this year. Really skilled post player, nice jumper, runs the floor well, and has a great attitude. Would like to see him get a little more aggressive on the boards, sometimes he does get pushed around down low.

I don't know that he'll go in the Top 10, but he's definitely a first rounder.

This season will be long, watching the scouting reports and all that. But that's all we'll have to focus on...

Cross checking this list with draftexpress. The guys I like in our range are Tyus Jones, Sam Dekker, Caris LeVert, Dakari Johnson, Illimane Diop, and Wayne Selden.

It seems to be a big heavy draft, and while we have to wait quite a while to see who the BPA's will be (assuming by some miracle we keep our own pick,) it would be really nice to get a rim protector to pair with Randle.

I'll be watching a guy like Kuran Iverson this season as a possibility with the Houston pick if we keep it.

LeVert? Really? If he's top 5, I can't get excited about this draft...

It's not a mock draft.

But LeVert is my guy.

SPEED.

Triple threat.
Length.
Defense.
Energy.
Work Ethic.

That's pretty much a can't miss prospect for me.

If were in the top 5, top 3 rankings.

1 Stanley Johnson
2. Jahlil Okafor
3. Emmanuel Mudiay

I think Johnson is the most complete player in the draft, has all the physical tools and versatility on both ends of the court.

Rockets pick

1. Willie Cauley Stein
2. Tyus Jones
3. Sam Dekker

I'm not convinced of Stanley Johnson. NBA body, but two-dimensional offensive player.

Wing player driving in straight lines.

Okafor? People think of him as the next Duncan, but I'd rather see MUCH MUCH more muscle tone out of him. He's NBA size and has the post skill.

Mudiay is just a big PG, not dynamic like CP3 or Wall out of HS.

This is why I like LeVert so much. Legit combo guard. Two-way. More dynamic offensively. Easy opportunities to work on. Strength. Defensive posture.

Levert lacks strength and shy's away from contact when driving. He has quick feet but he stills gets over powered by college players, would not want him guarding some of the best SG's or SF's in the league. Solid prospect in the mid teens, but wouldn't draft him in the top 5.

Stanley Johnson has an NBA body, i.e Lebron and Melo when they entered the draft. Will have an immediate impact as a rookie, great versatility. Has shown he can guard multiple positions and is one of the best finishers driving to the basket. His floor is very high but if he can develop a consistent 3pt shot, has superstar potential.

I never said I was drafting him top 5. Why would anyone assume that?

His strength was doubled from his freshman to soph year. Same for Stauskas on the same regiment. There's still room to improve.

Body is easier to work on than ball-handling.

I think Stanley Johnson is overrated. Among the best of his class? Sure. Among the best of several classes? No.

Melo and LeBron had more developed bodies. They also had far more advanced skill than Stanley Johnson.

LeBron entered the league as a point guard. Melo already had isolation skills from the perimeter. Stanley lacks that. He has zero left hand.

Guys like DeRozan and Wiggins were similar out of HS. At least they absolutely exploded over defenders.

Stanley lacks that too.

Stanley is 6'7 240 lbs and he's only 18, he's just as big as Lebron and Melo was when they entered the draft. I wasn't comparing their games, just body type. He does have some similarities to Lebron like driving and creating for others, just not as quick.

He's not as explosive as Wiggins or Derozan but he's still a great athlete for his size. He has a better skill set and power then both. I think the article describes him accurately, a combination of Kawhi Leonard and prime Artest. Not a 25 ppg scorer like Melo or Harden, but 21/8/4 with great defense and a more complete player.
