Pierce:
1. wanted to be on the Clips; they didn't have the $.
2. wanted to be on a contender (Lakers aren't one).
Washington offered a good mix of both (contention and money).
I'm sure if Lakers had a team on paper that could compete he would have strongly considered it.

Really? Why in the entire F.ornicate U.nder C.onsent of the K.ing would that even be remotely a good idea??? I know that Stern and Gilbert clearly didn't want us to land a superstar but we just need to replenish via youth and Pierce doesn't fit that bill...
