Everyone is basically saying We are going anywhere, and are gonna be a lottery team again,

But everyone forgot we still have KOBE BRYANT, The most strong willed, toughest player in the history of the game, he basically willed us into the 7th seed a few years back, when we were left for dead,

I feel 2 things need to happen next year for us to make the playoffs

Obviously number one is Kobe has to be HEALTHY,
Number two is for Randle to have a solid impact, at least 15 and 8

I thing if we get those two things to happen next year, we make the playoffs. ....and as we seen this years playoffs, anything can happen. .....almost every series went 7.......

I'm very tired of all this negativity and doom and gloomers. .............I BELIEVE!!!!!

not to rain on your parade, but your forgetting one thing

kobe is not going to burst out of the cages scoring 30 per game as he was doing prior to his injury (worst day ever), he has to readjust and while he is readjusting, who knows how randle is going to perform at the same time, and during this time were not going to have a good record, maybe .500 or maybe slightly below and by the time kobe is the kobe we all are use to seeing, the season will be well out of hand for us

i could be wrong.. #GETJIMBUSSOUT

With some luck, it is possible. We still need a SF though.
This isn't a bad team. Say we sign Marion...

You have Lin who is an above average starting PG
Kobe who can still be a top 10 player
Marion who is still great on defense and a do it all guy.
A nice frontcourt rotation of Randle, Boozer, Hill, Davis.
A 6th man in Young
Other pieces like Henry.

Top to bottom, that is hardly a bad team.
Nicely balanced as well.

Believe all you want, but the fact is Kobe most likely will not even be close to the player he was before. Maybe if he was younger he'd be able to become the player he was before the injury, but at 36 the chance of that happening is very, very low. I still see him averaging 18-20ppg/3rpg/5apg, which is not bad at all considering the circumstances.

Also even though we made some solid moves, we aren't going to be better than the Mavs, Rockets, Spurs, Thunder, Blazers, Warriors, and Clippers for certain. That means we would need to be better than the Grizzlies, Pelicans, and Suns to nab the 8th seed and I just don't see that happening.

Not being negative or anything, but that's just the way things are in the West. Kobe can be as strong willed as ever, but there is just too much talent in our conference.

I like your optimism, but that's not happening. We had Kobe in his prime during the Smush Parker days and couldn't make it out of the first round.

I don't think we're making the playoffs and to be honest, I'm perfectly fine with that. I just want a nice solid team to be put out so we can attract some FA. I think we'll do better than last year but will come up short. Maybe the 10th seed?

i agree, but you know at the end of the day its not our fault, you put a guy who has no bball IQ to run the team this is what happens (lose howard, jackson, now gasol, plus two horrible coaching hires)

What you're hearing is not negativity or doom and gloom. It's reality.

It's not negativity to say Santa Claus doesn't exist even if kids are saying they BELIEVE! It's just reality.

Why doesn't anyone ever believe we'll go 82-0?

Coaching and gelling are also very important. Will be a while before these two factors become a plus.

I'm upset with the FO as much as the next person but in reality, the team we have isn't nearly as bad as some here make it out to be.

My predictions for each of our players.

Lin - With the improved 3 pt %, I definitely see him averagining 15-17 ppg
Kobe - Should be good enough for 20-22 ppg. Still see him as a top 10 player
*Marion - The one I hope for. 10 ppg, 6 rpg, great defense.
Boozer - 12/8. Very good, very serviceable.
Randle - 11/7. Very good rookie season
Hill - 10/8. Good and serviceable.
Ed Davis - 8/6. Good and serviceable as well.
Young - 14 ppg. Great off the bench.

That is hardly a bad team IMO. Nicely balanced, good at every position, good depth without many of the chronic issues the Lakers had in recent memory such as being slow or unbalanced, ie players not fitting the system etc.

I think we need to win 47 games to get the 8th seed. The East got better this off season so Western teams will have alot more losses by the end of the season.

We have to get off to a good start. If Kobe plays like himself the rest of the NBA will have hell to pay for the way they're clowing us.
