What's the point in being negative all of the time? Before injuries completely destroyed this team last year, they were actually pretty entertaining. And that was under D'Antoni. I believe our roster is better and can compete for a 7-8 seed. We have scorers. We have upside. We have youth and athleticism. And we have Kobe. I love how everyone thinks Boozer is hot garbage. He averaged 14 and 9 last year and split time with Taj Gibson. If he gives us 14 and 9 while splitting time this season at 3 million, he's a steal.

PG- J. Lin
SG- Kobe
SF- Wes Johnson
PF- Julius Randle
C- Jordan Hill

2nd Unit

PG- Nash/Clarkson
SG- Young/Clarkson
SF-X. Henry/Young
PF-Boozer/Kelly
C- Ed Davis

Honestly that doesn't look too bad. We should be able to feature Nick Young and Boozer on that second unit against other teams second units.

Great find Mike! This article is a great read, especially for the gloom and doom fans. We actually played well and were entertaining during the first quarter/third of the season, especially considering all the obstacles. We have so many ways we can go in the next couple of years. We have a ton of ending contracts and cap space available next year. If we are not close (bad year, no big FA signings next year), we can easily grab a couple of more first round picks and still be players the following year in FA. This rebuild is going to be fairly quick (2 to 3 years). The FO built the best team possible WITHOUT sacrificing future financial flexibility.

they added a bit of talent to maybe challenge a playoff spot for a season which they dont have pick, what else can you do? get flexibility and piling assets is the only option

Good job Jim and Mitch. Don't let the doubters and haters get you down. I like this years squad. But then I liked last years squad too. Too bad injuries killed us again.

Slow pace starters:
Nash Kobe Henry Boozer Davis

Fast pace bench:
Lin Young Wes Randle Hill

Ready when needed pine:
Clarkson Kelly Sacre

Coach:
Byron Scott

Season awards:
Coach of the year
Comeback player of the year
Sixth man

I think it's a deep squad. But as Dr. Buss said, we have lots of 1 karat players. Kobe and Randle are the high karat players, I think Lin/Young can be more than 1 karat players. But I think this is an incomplete team and the FO is going to be really active at the deadline. But they have lots of assets to work with this year unlike the last.

Once Nash gets injured again... Lin moves up and so does Clarkson.

Overall the FO has done a better job than last season.
We swung and missed on the big dogs but, say what you will, Mitch has been wheeling & dealing lately. Plus it appears that he is not yet finished.

It is a great find because he analyzed the situation as a savvy and successful GM, while posters view the situation as fans with a need for instant gratification
